After the departure from the Cabinet of Sayeeda Warsi came
the revelations: those who actually knew her took one view, while those who not
only didn’t know her, but didn’t want to know her, took a very different one.
One could almost conclude that the latter were informed by, shall we say, their
own self-imposed lack of information, and, it has to be said, a side order of
prejudice.
While Michael Ashcroft told that “The resignation of Sayeeda Warsi is a loss to both the Government and
the Conservative Party”, and Eric Pickles observed “At DCLG Sayeeda Warsi played an important role in integration: helping unite people,
tackling hate crime and commemorating the best of Britain”, this view was
contradicted by those on the outside with their own axe to grind.
Yes, while even her political opponents were prepared to be
gracious – Ed Miliband told that “I think Baroness
Warsi has acted with principle and integrity. People around Britain have been
shocked by the suffering we have seen in Gaza” – there on the sidelines,
sulking and petulant, was Douglas Murray, Islamophobic bigot and hatemonger,
ready and waiting with his snarky response.
And so it came to pass, as the Spectator gave
Doug Murray the K his platform. “Baroness
Warsi was over-promoted, incapable and incompetent” he whined, sentiments
which could be very easily applied to him.
We should also remember that this
is the pundit who insisted that “conditions
for Muslims in Europe must be made harder across the board”. Fortunately
for him, he wasn’t talking about Jews.
Moreover, this was not an isolated incident, as he then told
that “There are certain things in Britain
about which it is impossible to speak frankly. The birth rate of the Muslim
population is a prime subject”. So when this cretin passes judgment on the
country’s first woman Muslim cabinet minister, it is no surprise that the
bigotry comes so quickly to the surface. And one of his citations sells the
pass big time.
Murray links to another Spectator
blog, where this
flagrantly dishonest drivel is spouted: “One Tory source said today that she has been in a sulk ever since the
reshuffle, when she was passed over for promotion to Foreign Secretary”.
This is asserted by Mr Steerpike, who, as any fule kno, is in reality the
odious flannelled fool Henry Cole, aged 17¾, who is prone to frequent incendiary trouser situations.
To underscore this,
one has only to look at Master Cole’s earlier Twitter excursion, where he
asserted “In 2006, on an ‘Any Questions’
on BBC Radio 4, Warsi welcomed the election of Hamas in Gaza”. There is a significant
difference between “welcoming” and “accepting a ballot result”. Warsi did
the latter. That’s the trouble with lying: you miss the target and end up
pissing into the wind.
Small wonder Murray
and Cole are a pair of steaming fools. No
change there, then.
