5 Football Racism Hypocrisy Players get fines and long bans. Pillars of the establishment get a slap on the wrist. Football is not doing itself any favours here.

4 Has The Telegraph Sacked Toby Young? No word from the loathsome Tobes via the Tel for three weeks, despite the Spectator still running his self-promoting copy. Telegraph blogs is effectively dead – so what has happened to him?

3 Smear The Mil – Tuppence A Lie The sneering and cat-calling that descended on Mil The Younger because he gave money to a homeless woman just about sums up the depths to which the right-wing press is willing to sink.

2 Surly Burley’s Pliable Libel Sky News host Kay “Surley” Burley claimed that Alex Andreou had libelled her. From that point, it all went downhill until her claim fell flat.

1 Guido Fawked – Silent On Piers Morgan The perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his rabble at the Guido Fawkes blog have in the past been on the case of the former Daily Mirror editor. Now that it looks as if there could have been phone hacking under his watch, they have gone silent. This may not be totally unconnected to their now doing business with the Mirror titles.
