The Sunday edition of the Super Soaraway Currant Bun is
hidden away behind a paywall, but one helpful regular has made parts of today’s
print edition available to Zelo Street (see how that works,
Rupe?). And a clear highlight is the seriously draughty glasshouse at present
inhabited by (thankfully) former Tory MP Louise Mensch, who has been ordered to
kick the hated BBC.

“The BBC fat cats are at it again – and now they’re using YOUR money to attack the Sun” she whines, although she does not know how the Beeb’s rebuttals are funded (not all the Corporation’s income comes from the licence fee). And, as the man said, there’s more: “That’s right, with an election coming up, the Beeb has decided it’s all hands on deck to help Mili – it no longer pretends to be impartial”.
Note how rebutting the Sun
is transformed into supporting Labour, which is an admission that her paper is
supporting the Tories. Then she loses it completely: “its left-wing mouthpiece Norman Smith compares prosperous Britain to
the dark days of Thirties depression”. He doesn’t. Try again. “Never mind that we are streets ahead of the
EU”. We aren’t, and what the stuff has that got to do with it?
Then she takes the biscuit: “They lied to Parliament and now they’re lying to you”. Quite apart
from the minor fact that she can’t stand that one up, this is someone who used
Parliamentary privilege to lie very deliberately about, and defame in the
process, Piers Morgan, not once but twice. Small wonder she’s so knowledgeable
about lying to Parliament – she has first hand experience.
But look out, she’s on to recruitment: “The Beeb defended its ‘jobs for the boys’ culture ... Sorry, ‘I like my
mate’ isn’t good enough, BBC – you have to openly advertise the role and
consider everyone fairly”. Quite so Ms Mensch, so perhaps you’d like to
tell us how Creepy Uncle Rupe openly advertised for a pundit to write the
column that you now write.
And while you’re at it, perhaps you’d like to tell us how
the Murdoch press openly advertised, and considered everyone fairly, for the
column now written by Tony Parsons. Or, indeed, the piss-poor column now
cobbled together by the perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his rabble from
the Guido Fawkes blog. And the Times
leader writer berth occupied by the serially clueless Tim Montgomerie.
Moreover, the Murdoch press has no room to talk about spraying
millions up the wall, after it paid out those kinds of sums to phone hacking
victims. The BBC doesn’t have several of its present and former staff on trial
right now on a number of criminal charges. And the BBC didn’t employ the likes
of Mazher Mahmood to routinely trash careers for his own gratification and a
few more sales.
Creepy Uncle Rupe’s poodles are in no position to lecture
the Beeb. About anything.

They lied to Parliament...? Well, it's lucky an editor didn't say they pay police officers as well... erm... hold it...
It will be interesting to see how the Sun (and other tabloids) report on this week's docudrama about Christopher Jefferies and the way that certain newspapers crucified him on their front pages.
