After Sterling crashed out of the European Exchange Rate Mechanism in September 1992, “Shagger” Major contacted the then editor of the Sun, the deeply unpleasant Kelvin McFilth, to ask how he would be covering the story, only to be told “Prime Minister, I have on my desk in front of me a very large bucket of shit which I am just about to pour all over you”. Today, Theresa May knows just how her predecessor must have felt.
Because the Sun has, via an exclusive interview with Combover Crybaby Donald Trump - no doubt Rupe swung that one - crapped all over the PM and in doing so has emboldened those in the Tory Party who still harbour the delusion that trade deals can be done in a few days merely by grovelling to this preening, ignorant, lying, misogynist, racist, bullying bigot. They cannot. But that is not the point: the point is to bend Ms May to Murdoch’s will.
As with Major, the Sun will shill for the Tories come election time, but that does not mean - unlike with the Mail - that the party leader will automatically enjoy the paper’s support. The Murdoch mafiosi can shit on the Tories while still attacking Labour.
This they did through Trump’s rambling, incoherent interview with non-bullying political editor Tom Newton Dunn. The Donald suggested London Mayor Sadiq Khan was responsible for immigration (wrong). He claimed the British people support him (wrong). He claimed a London hospital had “blood all over the walls” and was like a war zone (wrong). He claimed to represent “a lot of people in Europe” (wrong).
Trump exhibits such basic stupidity that he cannot grasp the deep irony when he claims “Allowing the immigration to take place in Europe is a shame … I think it changed the fabric of Europe … So I think allowing millions and millions of people to come into Europe is very, very sad”. What’s that country he represents? Exactly how did all those people in the USA get there, except through immigration?
But what Trump - promoted by Murdoch and his press, remember - means by “immigration” is not any kind of immigration. Quite apart from “millions and millions” being another of his wild exaggerations, when he says “I think you are losing your culture” we know where he is at. That is a white supremacist speaking.
And it is a white supremacist backed by the Murdoch mafiosi in order to undermine this country’s Government, which is why today’s Sun editorial tells “Agree with him or not, Donald Trump at least speaks plainly and means it … We wish we could say the same of our Government”. Theresa May may be a poor PM. But she is not stupid.
Donald Trump, on the other hand, rambles on “I guess when they put out blimps to make me feel unwelcome, no reason for me to go to London … I used to love London as a city. I haven’t been there in a long time. But when they make you feel unwelcome, why would I stay there?”. He is staying at the US Ambassador’s residence right now.
That’s in Regent’s Park. In London.
Still, bucket of shit duly poured all over the PM, eh? Something to remember next time the Murdoch press lectures its readers about loyalty and patriotism. Don’t buy the Sun.

Maybe Mrs May should dust off Baldwin's speech for inspiration and point a finger clearly at press barons (and some editors) who seek 'power without responsibility' the 'prerogative of the harlot through the ages'. Incredible that we have allowed an individual who has never been British (perhaps even if he was British)to have control over such a large portion of our national media. And it started with footsie, denied for 2 or 3 decades, between Rupert and Maggie.
It’s the threat that there’s no trade deal if Mays Brexit plan goes ahead that’s ironic. Did all you leavers vote out, to “Regain Control From Brussels “only to surrender it to Trump?
We buy chlorinated chicken. The US buys the NHS. What's not to like?
Anon 11:01 - look at all the points listed about Trump: he is their man. Immigration, culture, lying about what is happening in Britain to benefit themselves, unproven claims to represent the majority - he is a figurehead who suits the right wing media's purpose; to them he is the gift that just keeps giving.
Interesting to imagine what they might say if he started ranting about something that they worship, say, if he suddenly came out as anti football, bad mouthed soap operas or dissed the royal family, although I imagine that if he spouted something like we need to legalise gun ownership (presumably to boost US exports - no tariffs on guns at the moment!) then he might have bitten off a little more than we could swallow.
Was it me or did he come out against Brexit?
Just heard part of the interview on the radio and I am sure he said he wouldn't be dealing with Britain, he'd be dealing with Europe. Just goes to show that despite everything, in the end Trump agreed with Obama.
So 24 hours after the Sky bid is cleared by government. Murdoch and Trump take a dump.
I see that Trump is saying at the news conference that he wasn't reported correctly in the SUN and it was "fake news".
