A Mobile Dinner Date

Ever been stuck figuring out somewhere that offers a dining experience a little out of the ordinary? How about a restaurant that gives you a tour of the city while you eat and drink? This interesting idea is available – by reservation only – in Milan, where two tramcars have been converted into mobile restaurants.

The one in front does the food

The service, called ATMosfera (ATM being Azienda Trasporti Milanesi, the city’s public transport provider) runs every evening bar Mondays, and offers a variety of menus (English version HERE) which may be washed down with a selection of appropriately fine wines.

However, at the price of 65 Euro a head (over 55 quid at current exchange rates), this is clearly a service for special occasions. The lunchtime outing, which was caught in the photo, only runs if the whole tram is booked.
