There were few takeaways from the first Presidential debate between Democrat challenger Joe Biden and Combover Crybaby Donald Trump, such was Trump’s appetite for heckling his opponent and talking over his answers. But The Donald had one standout: when he was asked to condemn white supremacists, and especially the Proud Boys. He said they should stand down, and then added that they should “stand by”.
This was an incendiary coda, but one media outlet was willing to go in to bat for Trump. To no surprise at all, that outlet was the Koch-funded Spiked, so called because it should have been long ago. And so, last month, it told its readers “No, the Proud Boys are not white supremacists … There are good reasons to dislike these 'Western chauvinists'. But racism is not one of them”. Lou Perez was the name on the by-line.
He goes on to tell “What I’ve learned is this: if you are convinced the Proud Boys are white supremacists, you won’t care to find out that they’re not … On the Proud Boys’ official website, ‘white supremacy’ is not listed among the group’s tenets. In fact, according to the website, the ‘core values of the Proud Boys’, include ‘anti-racism’ and, in clearly stated language, a refusal to ‘discriminate based upon race or sexual orientation / preference’”.
“The Proud Boys are not relying on their website to set the record straight. In Salt Lake City, Proud Boy Thad spoke ‘on behalf of the entire national organisation’, and said the Proud Boys ‘denounce white supremacy’. This was during a joint news conference with a leader of a local Black Lives Matter chapter. The international chair of the Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio, has also been vocal about the group’s anti-white-supremacy stance”.
On top of that, Brendan O’Neill has weighed in on the subject, asking “Why are we talking about the Proud Boys? They aren’t the ones who have helped to unleash a wave of instability and destruction in recent weeks” and asserting that the Proud Boys are nothing more than “an ineffectual bunch of muppets”. But then came the dénouement.
“Kyle Chapman, the founder of the Proud Boys’ so-called ‘tactical defense arm,’ sent out a message to supporters that he no longer wanted to pretend that he wasn’t a white nationalist … Chapman wrote. “We will no longer cuck to the left by appointing token negroes as our leaders. We will no longer allow homosexuals or other ‘undesirables’ into our ranks. We will confront the Zionist criminals who wish to destroy our civilization.’”
Anti-black racism. Homophobia. Anti-Semitism. They’re a bunch of Nazis. Not just white supremacists. Josef Mengele and Adolf Hitler would have been pleased to welcome those who claimed “We recognize that the West was built by the White Race alone and we owe nothing to any other race”. That is what Spiked has been defending.
At this rate, even the Kochs may stop and think. I’ll just leave that one there.

Spiked, the new modern neo-nazi "Der Stürmer".
Bet ol forehead himself would be proud to be the new Gobbels.
"At this rate, even the Kochs may stop and think. I’ll just leave that one there."
Yeah, nope... why do you think they pay so much money to that bunch of slap heads? So they can get their pro-fash views out there without being directly responsible. There is not a hope in hell that the Kochs will stop paying, and that the slap head in chief will stop sucking on the Kochs teat.

So they are just copying the EDL's tactics by claiming they were not racist, when the opposite was evidently true.

On this occasion you've called it 'Anti-Semitism'. Naughty Tim.
If Britain has become a sort of distant, seedy ruritanian successor of the Weimar Republic....then we're at about 1929....
According to the Southern Poverty Law Centre:
"They are known for anti-Muslim and misogynistic rhetoric. Proud Boys have appeared alongside other hate groups at extremist gatherings like the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville. Indeed, former Proud Boys member Jason Kessler helped to organize the event, which brought together Klansmen, antisemites, Southern racists, and militias. Kessler was only “expelled” from the group after the violence and near-universal condemnation of the Charlottesville rally-goers." And much more.
O'Neill is an absolute disgrace attempting to downplay these wannabe Brown Shirts. He's no "libertarian" and Spiked's acceptance of Koch dosh confirms the claim from the 80s that extreme right wingers like the Kochs Bros set out to finance and lasso the burgeoning Libertarian movement and drag it to the far right.
Never forget O'Neil is also funded on trips to Australia by the creepy extreme right wing "think tank" the IPA funded by Gina Rinehart, Murdoch etc and who want to abolish pensions, public broadcasting, universal healthcare and so on.
The Slaphead Society might take a dim view of the comment at 12:50.
