Tommy Robinson - All Aboard The Tragic Bus

Recently, Stephen Yaxley Lennon, who styles himself Tommy Robinson, told his faithful followers that he was about to indulge in another round of doorstepping, the practice which involves him rocking up unannounced at his target’s house so he can indulge in a little routine harassment, usually on a false pretext. Sadly for the waiting masses, the doorstepping failed to materialise. Nor did it happen the next time he announced it.
Why he abandoned his mission, for which he claimed to have acquired lots of folks’ addresses and other personal details, can only be guessed. The reasons certainly won’t be admitted by him any time soon. Instead, he has decided to try a new tack, which does not involve indulging in harassment on a false pretext. He is going to buy a bus.

No, he’s not about to enter the public transport marketplace - Lennon has much grander visions than that. He’s going to use his bus to bring, to a town or city near you, the latest thoughts of Himself Personally Now. Here’s his all too predictable pitch.

I have been completely censored, de-platformed and pretty much erased from the face of the online earth by the establishment, the giant corporations and the so-called ‘powers that be’ … things have got to such a level now that … any [people] who even dare to … mention my name are now being … met with a level of censorship which is no different to that of a communist dictatorship!!” He wouldn’t know a dictatorship if he saw one.

But do go on. “I plan to tackle this censorship stranglehold head on…I AM GOING TO ATTEMPT TO BUY A BUS!!!” Yeah, right. Carry on. “This isn’t your typical bus … this will be a state of the art bus with a huge external screen and multiple internal screens which can facilitate and double up as a studio where I can literally take to the streets to bring live shows … without being ‘removed’ or ‘shut down’”.
Looks about ready for the hydraulic roof

Someone tell him about local by-laws concerning, oh I dunno, noise nuisance, unlicensed broadcasting, improper use of car and coach parks, and of course the implications for the local law enforcement authorities. But in the meantime, he wants us all to know that his bus won’t just have a roof, but a hydraulic roof. The shrubbery will be optional.

So how is Lennon going to pony up the dosh for his bus? And what about the conversion costs, running expenses, and the small matter of someone qualified to drive it? Ah, but you know what’s coming next. He doesn’t refer to “our very own TR.NEWS bus” for nothing, because  the usual group of mugs, sorry, fans are going to pay for it.

Here’s the hard sell: “PLEASE VIEW THE VIDEO ABOVE AND IF, LIKE ME, YOU ARE EXCITED BY WHAT YOU SEE THEN I WOULD ASK YOU TO PLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN BY DONATING USING THE FORM PROVIDED!! THIS WILL BE MONUMENTAL, JUST WHEN THEY THOUGHT THEY HAD SILENCED ME FOR GOOD”. Come on mugs, cough up. Remember he has a lifestyle to pay for.

Once a grifter, always a grifter. I’ll just leave that one there.

No lies painted on the sides of the bus for Tommy.

''De-platformed' eh Stevie? Stop moaning, most buses were de-platformed about 30 years ago.

And is 'head on' a wise way to 'tackle a stranglehold', even a 'censorship stranglehold' d'you think?

And why are you going to 'attempt' to buy a bus? Have the bastards banned you from bus-buying? Is there no limit to the dastardliness of 'the establishment, the giant corporations and the so-called ‘powers that be’?

Tommy's Easter gift to his readers, eh?

That bus has definitely had it's platform removed and is preserved in Rotherham by the SYTT

@3

Apparently it did not have a platform - the original vehicle was a Leyland Titan PD3/4 with a Roe H38/32F body.

But the rear end has been shortened.
