Minor actor and even less important musician Laurence Fox has enjoyed his brief period in the limelight recently, being feted by the not-really-racist-honestly right wing because he allegedly tells it like it is, and is not “woke”, not like all those PC types who object to bigotry and prejudice. But populist fame has had unintended consequences.
Fox’s time as a lead player in the ITV detective series Lewis saw him working alongside Rebecca Front, who played his boss. There had been a friendship between the two, but as Fox has become his new, reinvented, populist self of late, it seems she became less than totally enamoured of his new pals. This led to her blocking him on Twitter.
Fox wasn’t having any of that, and as is his wont, he combined playing the victim with sly publication of a direct message exchange with Ms Front which he must have known would instigate a pile-on against her. As a result, he was subjected to much adverse comment and his already declining reputation as a human being took another nose-dive.
Rebecca Front
This was Tweeted out alongside the snivelling “This is the most painful cancellation I have had yet. From someone I spent 10 happy years working with, many lovely family dinners and lots and lots of laughs. Someone I thought was a friend #AllLivesMatter”. That’s one hell of a king size onion he’s working there. But only a nanoviolin.
And so it came to pass that Fox told his followers yesterday afternoon “Earlier I tweeted a private text message. It isn’t true to my values to make a private conversation public just to make a point. I regret it. I would like to apologise to [Rebecca Front] for doing so. I’m going to delete the tweet and try to build bridges rather than burn them”.
The popularity of Laurence Fox was for a time, but not for all time. Good thing too.

Can anyone explain how he keeps being 'cancelled' and yet we are all still well aware of what he thinks?
Never heard of him.
Old phrase of engage brain before opening mouth comes to mind with Fox and many other of his Alt right friends.
Fucking hell was Billie Piper right to escape...
Roll on the day he and his sort can be compelled to undergo thought rehabilitation. Non-conformity to the only acceptable groupthink is nothing but white privilege masquerading as free speech.
If it wasn't for his famous Daddy, Laurence wouldn't have got the acting jobs he has done.
Shawn Bailey is a twat too.
"All lives matter". The "me me me" inane selfishness of adding it to his posts. She was spot on saying "can't they even have a fucking slogan".
One could easily shout it at The Queen when she was laying a wreath for the WW2 fallen or perhaps at mourners at a funeral.
Of course there was an error only want your own crap views posted don't you
Your all a load of fools, you need a dose of common sense, why can't we all get along.
Perhaps hurling blanket insults at commenters on a forum undermines us 'all getting along'. Common sense one would have thought.
Common sense: the least common of all the senses
Because "can't we all get along?" comes with the unspoken coda of "...on the majority's terms?". In other words, shut up, put up with it, grin and bear it.
Love him in Lewis. Sgt Hathaway is an intriguing and very deep character. I shall continue watching.
Brilliant as Sergeant Hathaway. So, he is not very PC, I gather?
What a moronic comment. You should go and live in China if you think that's how we should run a country.

And you should go and live in North Korea if you think ignoring International Law is how we should run a country.

You do realise the series ended in 2015? You're just watching a blank screen. But still finding the plot difficult to follow, eh?
I think he speaks what many people feel but aren't brave enough to say!!!!

Your posts have proven by now that you don't think.
You should know Tim!
Is "Unknown" Lozza's sock puppet account ?
