Question Time Ranter IDENTIFIED

After all the controversy sparked by an audience member on the most recent edition of BBC Question Time, where a number of totally untrue claims were made about migration, population, the education system, languages used in the NHS, and whether the country was “sinking” under people “flooding in” from elsewhere, we have the serious claim that someone connected with the programme has let through one of the far right.
One enterprising Tweeter made the connection between the angry but ignorant and dishonest audience member and someone who had demonstrated in support of Stephen Yaxley Lennon, who styles himself Tommy Robinson. Was it the same person? It appears it was, and John O’Connell of Far Right Watch had more.
If the woman on the left is the woman on the right, FRW can assist. Left is Sherri Peach, nee Bothwell, mostly connected with Britain First, married to former National Front Election Candidate, Roy Peach”. He added “And before you attack us for 'doxxing', at the demo where she was photographed she was quite happy to give her name and be interviewed. Thus, perfectly in order”. Further confirmation came soon afterwards.
One Tweeter found a video of Ms Peach on YouTube, where she confirmed her name and sounded, well, like the Question Time ranter. O’Connell had another sighting to add: “And here she appears again, front and centre, in one of our own pieces from last year - the 'Britain First Fake Flag Burning' post”. You can see that post on Facebook HERE.
Another Tweeter noted “Looks like she was also a National Front candidate”. Indeed she was. Twice, back in 1974. O’Connell claimed “Further confirmation from multiple sources that this London National Front woman was invited on to the #bbcqt  (in Dorset) by #bbcqt staffer Alison Fuller-Pedley and placed front row. She stayed in a local hotel. Bill paid by a third party, as yet unknown”. Ms Fuller Pedley works on the show, but not for the BBC.
If true, that puts Mentorn Media (the company that produces Question Time, and also The Big Questions) in one of those Very Difficult Positions. It puts the BBC in a yet more difficult position. Worse, the way the rant was clipped up and distributed using the Question Time Twitter feed has run into further criticism.
As Sam Bright of Scram News has told, “So I used to run the social media accounts of a BBC political debate programme. This post blatantly violates BBC editorial guidelines”. Do go on. “If run properly, Question Time should inform people and (in theory) contribute to healthy, democratic debate. At the minute it’s built like an entertainment programme. It’s about clipping up extreme views and getting viral hits. The BBC need to rethink”.
And he had this warning to add: “I would like to put on record though that I think the BBC is a phenomenal institution. The overwhelming majority [of] journalists work their arses off to produce quality, impartial programmes. They just need to dump Question Time, in its current format at least”. They also need to explain the presence of Ms Peach.
Recently, the talk about Question Time has not been merely about those participating, but the programme itself, and most notably its fitness for purpose.

If the programme becomes the story, it is finished. I’ll just leave that one there.
APPEAL The Legalballs Fund: I made a mistake. Now I need to raise £16,500 to cover a legal bill. You can chip in to help me HERE - all help is gratefully received. Thanks for reading this far!

The point is, this is not an aberration.

BBC "News and Current Affairs" programmes are riddled with far right tory management, editors, front men and women and propaganda. Lying and distortion has now gone beyond ludicrous - it's positively sinister.

"Work their arses off" my arse. Nothing but a gang of cowardly overpaid righties.

Your starter for ten:

It doesn't take much on-line excavation to find the name of Alison (Fuller-)Pedley in over-close association with the EDL and contributions to the British Patriotic Front website.

Suck it, Google it, and see.

This is the first time I have ever seen the real right centre position on immigration ever represented on the BBC question time. Yet all we see is the left losing their shit over it and trying to dox the person and I am sure try an ruin them as much as possible. There is so much hate on the left and they did not even try to refute the valid economic arguments that she presented.

Everything this lady said is true. Schools where the majority of children dont speak English, interpreters costing a fortune not only in the NHS but police stations, job centres, social services and schools. Women having the right to claim benefits because their religion does not allow them to work. And when you point this out right away all the loony left accuse you of being far right and racist. No wake up it's the truth.

Her views were not racist they were ACCURATE
Scary that debate is being stifled in PC UK

The Left doesn't need to. That woman is a scumbag and should never have been given a platform. Like it or not, you are on the wrong side of this debate.

I am centre right with my politics and I find her views abhorrent.

Right centre? Lad she's a fucking nazi

Unknown said...

Valid? I thought Ash refuted them?

Unknown said...

She didn't present a coherent argument she ranted nf propaganda

Leigh Richards said...

Er it was the far right 'position on immigration' that we heard being 'represented' on thursday - the position of the old nazi national front the ranter concerned apparently stood in elections for. And like her the NF was in favour of completely sealing up the border - oh and they also wanted to deport every non white person in the uk. And from what she said on QT is reasonable to assume peach believes likewise. Wonder if she also also shares her old parties views on the holocaust being fake? And the world being 'controlled by jewish financiers'. Any sixth form economics student could tell you that immigration is good for the economy you ill informed bigot - certainly the nhs and social care in the uk would cease to function without people from overseas working in them

Anonymous said...

Nothing she said is valid look upwards for your problems not downward

Anonymous said...

Which particular valid economic arguments might those be? None of what she said holds any more water than a tea-strainer.

Unknown said...

QT needs to be scrapped

Leigh Richards said...

What's 'true' is our public services would collapse without workers from overseas. Its also the 'true' that the party she apparently stood in elections for are unapologetic neo nazis. It's also 'true' that her fash apologists on here havent got the bottle to back up their ignorant racist bile under their real names. Gutless as well as brainless

Unknown said...

What I dont understand is that anyone that doesn't subscribe to the view of the left is automatically assumed to be far right. It is not bigoted to have an alternative view. It is true that there are many inner city schools where english is not the first language with a majority of children, for instance. This is a fact. Suddenly I'm a neo nazi sympathiser. By listening to others and other views actually expands the brain.

Our racist ranter lives in Burton Bradstock Dorset and London. Has a stall on Bridport Market, and in Customs House Quay at West Bay. If anyone wishes to pay her market stall a visit to sample her wares you know where to go. I am sure as a market trader, Sheri's book keeping is correct and up to date with no 'omissions.'

Unknown said...

"Our NHS would collapse without migrant workers." I wholeheartedly agree - not only European workers though. And the reason that our NHS is in such a mess? Quite simply, too many people have access to it. Why are our schools failing? Because not enough money is put into it and too many children who speak English as an additional language are expected to make the same level of progress as British native children. 16 years teaching experience tells me that.

Unknown said...

I absolutely agree. The left are so quick to jump on the racism bandwagon when faced with inconvenient truths.

Unknown said...

The problem with the left at the moment is that anyone who would previously have held centrist views are more branded far right.

Why? Simply to negate their views and close down debate.

I used to believe that my views were left of centre but now I'm considered far right simply because I want better controls on migration and I voted to leave the EU.

Jesus christ the pathetic denial of the demise of my country really boils my piss. The lady just pointed out the blatantly obvious.wake up leftys your unconscious.

@Unknown, You obviously are not a teacher. Statistics show that children who speak another language, especially children of immigrants, excel in school work. They also excel in the business world. Look it up and stop lying.

@17:03
The UK has always had control over immigration from non-EU countries.

You and others who voted to leave the EU means that Brits will no longer have right to work temporarily in EU countries and other EU nationals will no longer have the right to work in Britain temporarily.
'Temporarily' is an important word in the last sentence as most EU workers prefer to return to their home country.
The majority of workers from non-EU countries seeking to enter the UK do so hoping to settle in Britain permanently.

We have had schools with children who are second language speakers for decades! And it has made this country more diverse culturally, more tolerant and welcoming, something that many of us celebrate. Especially when I am confronted by little Englanders who want to celebrate their slob culture, intolerance and who frankly are an embarassment to the standards that our parents/grandparents fought to maintain in the face of dangerous fascists. The children all learn and speak English eventually in class. And should be praised for it. I'm proud to be called a far lefty by you "unknowns", even though I'm a centrist. Let's have some real evidence for your intolerant, small-minded opinions if you are going to try to spread them. This wonderful country does not need them or you!

It's bloody pensioners that's clogging up the NHS, not foreigners. NHS can't cope with an increasing ageing population. Simple as that.

I live in a neighbourhood with lots of EU migrants, and their children are far more fluent in English than these xenophobic nutters. More likely they will continue to university Level education, while the children of these loser will end up driving white vans and unblocking toilets.

'Valid economic arguments'? Distortions lies and distractions more like. The UK population has in fact risen by around 15% from 56 to 66 million since 1980 - ONLY 15% - that's 40 years for the (mainly) right-wing Tory governments to have made the necessary improvements to infrastructure to cope with what is after all a fairly modest population increase. The fact that they have spectacularly failed to do so shows that they are unfit for purpose and should be taking the blame for the country's ills, not immigrants who are being used as a crude scapegoat.

I am an interpreter with a well-run and honest non-profit agency that works with the NHS. I would be delighted to cost the NHS a fortune, as it is I make £20/hour plus expenses - and I have years of experience, post-grad qualifications and speak three languages. I am the voice of the patient and of the doctors when they can detect no fetal heartbeat, or explain that the tumour can no longer be treated. To do my job, which includes commercial as well as public service work, I need a working knowledge of medicine, law, technology, and retail finance in several different countries.
Through my work, I have met many people who have arrived in England with limited or no English. Despite this, the vast majority do not claim benefits, do well in their jobs because they have skills and abilities which their English colleagues are unable or unwilling to develop, and try very hard to learn English to the best of their ability. Their bi-lingual children usually do very well at school - one has been described to me by her teacher as a popular role model to her classmates. My wife is an EU migrant - she has worked in a demanding public service job for more than twenty years, has not had a day off sick in thirteen years, and has been commended by her employer.
Immigrants are not the problem; half-witted ignorant fascist pillocks like "Unknown" or the woman on Question Time who shamed the whole country with her paranoid rantings very much are. To them and the idiot politicians who created this mess with their unspeakably stupid Brexit, I have only this to say - go and have a bath. Wash your hair and don't forget to use the hair-dryer BEFORE you get out of the bathtub.

EU citizens pay more tax than us Brits on average. Yes, MORE TAX. More tax should equals more teachers and doctors. The Tories and austerity are the ones stopping that extra tax making its way through to services. Your posts are mere opinion not facts. You have a right to the freedom of speech and I have a right to tell you that your opinions are nonsense and xenophobic. Because they are. You'll never see it though. So sad

The NHS wouldn't collapse. non-UK citizens represent 13% of the population and are currently 13% of the NHS workforce. They would have to be massively overrepresented within the NHS for your narrative to hold.

They cant seem to make counter argument's, to express what they believe to be wrong, and provide evidence as to why. Instead the left will simply call you a fascist and a nazi, far right, and dangerous, then hunt you down like a dog to destroy your life. This isnt just stiffling debate, it is jackboot authoritarianism.

I am happy to argue with anyone over the way they interpret facts. But if two people can't even agree on the facts, there is nothing to argue about. If a person wants to base their political position on factual innacuracies, fine. But a public service news debate should not allow those inaccuracies to go unchallenged.

Anonymous said...

Why are you using 1980 as your start point when during 1980 to 1995 there was less net migration than the period between 95 and 2000? Immigration and individual immigrants isnt a problem, unrestricted immigration that is only designed to inflate the pool of workers for major corporations to keep wages down with no significant increase in public spending on infrastructure is only going to compound problems though.

HM Office of National Statistics (ONS) labels EU citizens who work in the UK for longer than 1 year as 'long term migrants'.
HM Land Registry (HMLR) label a lease 'short term' if it is less than 21 years.

Full of immigrants from across the border, unwilling to learn the language, using our hospitals who don't even bother with interpreter's.
Irony is lost on you, a bunch of hippocrates.

Anonymous said...

Are you really saying everyone who doesn't speak English is disabled? Or are you making a false equivalence between interpreters for economic migrants, and interpreters for those unfortunate enough to be deaf?

Either way, that's pretty bigoted. You better dox yourself to show how stunningly brave you are.

As a lefty, raised in a family that are right wing at best, far right at times, my first experience of our immigration problem was when I visited London age 15. The receptionist and barstaff in our hotel were both eastern European. On day one, they checked us in at 2pm. They were still working when we returned from the west end at midnight. The same eastern European then wished us a good morning at breakfast the next day. THE PROBLEM WITH IMMIGRATION IS THIS; People enter this country in all trades, with a stronger work ethic than "our own" and then proceed to work damn hard in their field. Your hatred comes from the knowledge that Britain has raised a welfare state that is abused by the British and draining our economy. I've heard countless Brits complain there are "no jobs" when what they mean is there's no job they *want* and therefore feel entitled to sit back and do f**k all. The reality is that migrant workers, EU based or otherwise, highlight the failings, laziness and bad attitudes of the British worker. Get a grip. This woman is poison.

According to Kópenicker above, "Our racist ranter lives in Burton Bradstock Dorset and London. Has a stall on Bridport Market, and in Customs House Quay at West Bay."
