Chris Pincher. Still a Tory MP
And so it came to pass that the Murdoch Sun blew (I say, is that the right word? - Ed.) the whistle on deputy chief whip Chris Pincher, who then resigned his position after he “embarrassed himself”. There’s a quote doing some seriously heavy lifting, as the BBC has explained. “Tory deputy chief whip Chris Pincher has resigned from the government, as a newspaper alleged he groped two men at a private members' club”.
There was more. “Witnesses told the BBC he was seen ‘extremely drunk’ at the Carlton Club, the Conservative Party members' club in London on Wednesday night … he is said to have assaulted two other male guests … Several concerned Tory MPs contacted the Conservative whips' office to complain about Mr Pincher's behaviour”. And it gets worse. A lot worse.
One of those allegedly groped was another Tory MP. It’s been claimed that they both were. Then it was noted that Pincher should not have managed to work himself into a state of advanced alcoholic derangement because he had been assigned a “minder”. Why would that be? Ah well. It takes very little research to discover that Pincher has significant previous.
Because his name appears on That Tory Spreadsheet, along with the warning “Inappropriate with male researchers and heavy drinker”. And it gets worse still: he had done it before. In November 2017, the HuffPost reported that “Conservative MP Chris Pincher has referred himself to the police following accusations he made an unwanted sexual advance at former Olympic rower and Tory activist Alex Story. Downing Street said on Sunday evening that Pincher had also ‘voluntarily stood down’ from the Whips’ Office”.
Labour should be putting everything into somehow persuading the Tories in Tamworth to tell their MP that he should go. Because, despite the almost 20,000 majority, Pincher first won the seat in 2010 by just 6,000 votes - and it had been held by Labour from 1997 until then, albeit on older boundaries.
If Keir Starmer’s new-look, inoffensive, centrist, no-strikes-please Labour Party is serious about forming the next Government, it needs to retake Tamworth. The signs are hopeful: while Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has observed “We are witnessing a total collapse of standards in government”, the party’s deputy leader Angela Rayner has gone further.
“There can be no question of the Conservatives sweeping a potential sexual assault under the carpet. Boris Johnson must now answer how Chris Pincher can remain a Conservative MP at all. Standards in public life have been utterly degraded on this PM’s watch”. Pincher has previous. He was such a risk he had to have a minder. Labour shouldn’t back off until the SOB resigns.
Then they have to show they, like the Lib Dems, can overturn a 20,000 Tory majority. Tony Blair’s version of Labour took the seat three times. So when is Labour going to turn up the volume and push for a by-election?
The Tories have a sleaze problem. Labour’s problem is taking advantage.

At times I wonder if many on the Tory benches could hold down any sort of actual job. Still, they're not polluting the food in some burger bar I suppose...
Let's for a second imagine that Sir Haircut actually has the courage to mount some sort of offensive on the grounds of sleaze, sexual misconduct or even corruption, how long before a RW press "expose" of some entirely non-equivalent labour behaviour (See Beergate) see's him scurrying back down his hole?
I mean, that's what usually happens isn't it? The RW press decides the best way to protect the Tory's is to switch on the "they're all as bad as each other" narrative.
Pincer by name. Pincher by nature. And a private members club? Should be member's privates
The "...total collapse of standards in government..." hasn't bothered anyone since 1979. Why should it bother them now?
People actually seem to want it. Otherwise they wouldn't buy trash manufactured by corporate media such as the Murdoch Scum. Or place in policy power low lives such as Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown, Cameron, May, Johnson, and now potentially Starmer.
A pissed up gay thicko groping his way around a gang of such politicians is the least of our worries - even der führer saw off Ernst Röhm.
Meanwhile, the country has become a deluded shithole because it has allowed thievery, inflicted poverty, hypocrisy, media propaganda lying and warmongering to become cultural props.
And there's even more of it on the way. Best get ready for it because, remember, There Is No Other Way.
Starmer is a useless shitebag. He’s my MP and does bugger all for his constituents. I’m looking out of my window at a part constructed 21 storey tower of luxury private apartments under construction here in central London. We wrote to him, and emailed him and left messages asking for our small local community park to not be decimated and warning him of the effect the building would have on the lives of local (primarily Labour voting) residents. He didn’t even bother to respond. As I began - useless shitebag with zero interest in anything other than upholding the pillars of the State and the status quo unchallenged.
Johnson leads his government, party and governs the country, much in the way he conducts his own life. Why should be be surprised at his actions, or indeed any of his ministers and MP's? Why on earth should anyone expect Johnson to reprimand one of his fellow Tory MP's acting in a grubby manner when he has his own base actions to answer for?
@gillette: he acquired the nickname “Arse” long ago.
As for Sir Keeves; it’s an open goal. Stop pissing about passing the ball and stick it in the back of the net.

The Starmer Quisling isn't "pissing about". He's doing exactly as he's told and expected to.
That is, wait your turn, make occasional self-righteous noises, don't rock the political boat, keep betraying human decency, change nothing of substance......and the British oligarch system will see you safely into Downing Street if the present gang carry on its hapless way.
The fellow is an utter fraud who stinks of betrayal from every pore. He and his nest of red tory creeps will do anything to keep their salaries and laughable "status". That's their function, always was, always will be. Expect nothing more from him and them.
'You have to do something about this guy': How a night at the Carlton Club ended with Tory MP Chris Pincher being 'frogmarched to the door' after getting so drunk he 'could barely speak' and being accused of groping two men, writes GUY ADAMS

'He was frogmarched to the door and poured into a black cab. The guy was so drunk that he could barely speak and was unable to tell the driver where he lived. We had to look it up for him. That was how bad it was.'
