Smirk set to stun
Consider this analysis by Ian Dunt for iNews. On the subject of making someone stateless, he notes “the Government has given itself the power to impose this condition on British citizens … It doesn’t matter how long they’ve been citizens. It could be half a century. They have now been established as a second-class citizen by the Home Office”. There is more.
“The Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 allowed the government to strip someone of their British citizenship as long as they had another nationality. The Immigration Act 2014, pushed by then-home secretary Theresa May, went one step further. It allowed her to strip a naturalised Brit of their citizenship even if it made them stateless, as long as they could apply for another nationality”. Ring any bells?
“Under the 2014 Act, it had to ‘serve notice’ to the person that they were taking the action against them … [the Government then] gave itself the power to serve notice by putting a copy of it on the person’s file if their whereabouts were unknown”. The High Court later decided that this singularly sly device failed to serve notice.
“The court ruled that the Government did not follow the law. So now it is trying to pass a new law making the unlawful actions retrospectively legal … The overall effect of this clause is simple. It is designed to prevent people from securing their right to appeal”. And why should this whole charade be ringing bells for anyone who is Jewish?
Because, even if they do not hold dual nationality, or haven’t even considered taking any other nationality, Jews are entitled by the Law of Return to relocate to Israel and become Israeli citizens. So any Jews who became British citizens through naturalisation could find themselves stripped of that citizenship as they “could apply for another nationality”.
That may not be the current intention of Ms Patel and her pals. But, with the certainty of night following day, after they come for the Muslims, the far-right come for the Jews.
And the far-right have now been quietly emboldened. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Anti-Semitism is as old as loony superstitious Christianity. Catholics and Protestants actually played an active part in the Holocaust.
But the modern version has roots in the crude creation of the Israeli state. It sought separation instead of assimilation. This led inevitably to the horror of Israeli apartheid and mad Zionist "exceptionality". Physical conflict was inevitable.
Add in crackpot US far right Christian Bible Belt (Judeo-Christian) absurdity and you get the 21st century variety.
Any criticism of Israeli government atrocities is now labelled "anti-Semitic". Such smears are nothing more than venomous political cynicism - witness the evil lying propaganda levelled at Jeremy Corbyn by "Zionist without qualification" Starmer.
In the long run this lunacy will only rebound on Judaism, Christianity and the West as religious superstition continues its long slow decline throughout Western culture. Denial of The Enlightenment has a limited shelf life.
Problem is, the fearful damage it can do with hysterical reactions.

Only the most desperate on the planet would seek British citizenship. A nation disintegrating under the weight of its self-manufactured, self-pitying, self-serving illusions has all the appeal of a pre-eruption Krakatoa with full knowledge of the looming cataclysm.
Imagine what lies ahead if the last 40 years proceed to a logical conclusion.
The short lived "social democracy" of 1945-1975 might even sound like paradise. It wasn't of course....but by comparison.....

Knocking on the door of a quarter-million signatures at the time of writing.
A bit rich for the Board of Deputies to complain about anything. They engaged in an orgy of claimed "left wing Antisemitism" and ignored the realities of extreme right wing racism including Antisemitism. They reap what they sowed.
On the upside, Boris being half American hopefully could be deported to the USA. Perhaps he can board with Trump at Mar a Lago.
It has been noted elsewhere that anyone entitled to Irish citizenship is also affected by this, which means just about the entire population of Northern Ireland and not a few natives of the rest of the UK. But I'm sure that, just as with the Jewish population, doing over the Irish never entered disgraced former International Development Secretary Piggi “Potato Famine” Patel's head. Oh no.
