Top Six – October 5

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have shopping stuff to do later. So there.
FAWKES FULL HOUSE

6 Guido Fawked – Alex Wickham Outed This post from August 2012 has made a welcome return, telling how the perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his rabble at the Guido Fawkes blog aimed to use their newly anointed teaboy Alex Wickham as an anonymous information gatherer. Except Zelo Street blew his cover, and so they couldn’t. Another fine mess.

5 Guido Fawked – Shove Your Explanation The excuse note for the Brooks Newmark sting got both barrels. It’s no more than it deserved.

4 Guido Fawked – Protesting Too Much After my suggestion that the fictional “Sophie Wittams” was in fact Alex Wickham, his pals, far from keeping schtum, kept on shooting their mouths off. A particularly serious offender in this respect was the odious flannelled fool Henry Cole.

3 Guido Fawked – What Did I Tell You Monday evening’s Newsnight brought the revelation from media commentator Steve Hewlett that “Sophie Wittams” was indeed Alex Wickham. Hai thangeow.

2 Guido Fawked – Pants On Fire The Great Guido attempted to claim the moral high ground by suggesting that others had published photos whose subjects had not given permission for their use. Except their amateurish evidence-deleting exercise was then rumbled.

1 Brooks Newmark – A Nasty-Tasting Sting This is the post that first pitched the name of Alex Wickham as being behind last weekend’s Sunday Mirror splash. The Fawkes rabble’s modus operandi was all too obvious. Another fine mess.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
