So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have to do Christmassy prep stuff later. So there.

6 Russell Brand – Mail Silent A Daily Mail reporter had curry paste thrown over him, and his phone number published on Twitter, by Brand. Yet the Mail kept schtum. What else was he up to, then?

5 Gilligan Pants On Fire Again Andrew “transcription error” Gilligan tried to dump the responsibility for the hounding of retired teacher Christopher Jefferies on to the Police. But the cops were not the ones writing all the defamatory copy.

4 Don’t Menshn No Legal Action (thankfully) former Tory MP Louise Mensch did not carry through on her threat to sue author and playwright Peter Jukes, and then me. And she still hasn’t.

3 Guido Fawked – Sadiq Khan Cleared After all the build-up, the campaign by the perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his rabble at the Guido Fawkes blog to pin a “driving while phoning” charge on Labour MP Sadiq Khan fell flat when the Met decided there was insufficient evidence to proceed. Another fine mess.

2 Sun Rod Liddle Trans Jibe Shame Liddle’s snipe at Labour PPC Emily Brothers brought condemnation on him, and the Murdoch Sun. He apologised eventually, but the paper’s PR tried to slither out of it. No surprise there.

1 Don’t Menshn Libel Action Author and playwright Peter Jukes expressed an opinion about the past behaviour of (thankfully) former Tory MP Louise Mensch. This blog noted the comments. Ms Mensch went off the end of the pier and declared that she would sue both of us for libel. Bring it on.
