Top Six – November 24

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have shopping to do later. So there.
6 Nadine Dorries Is Unhappy The fragrant Nadine did not stand up well to the extra scrutiny of both Sunday Mirror and Maily Telegraph, resulting in some particularly nasty smears, especially against Peter Oborne of the Tel. Not the right man to pick on.

5 Another Free School Failure Bad news for Michael “Oiky” Gove from Suffolk, with another Free School in a shambolic mess. The head teacher has left and three department headships are vacant at the IES Breckland Free School, but Gove and his retinue of polecats are silent. No surprise there.

4 Co-Op – Let’s Get Labour The behaviour of the Rev Paul Flowers was leapt on by the Tories to suggest that the opposition had rather more involvement with the Co-Op bank than was true.

3 Will Nadine Reappear In The Mirror? The threats emanating from Mid Bedfordshire’s Tory MP suggested that the Sunday Mirror had been on her case. So popcorn orders were in order.

2 Jarman’s Dangerous Numbers Game The man who developed Hospital Standardised Mortality Ratios (HSMRs) sat on the fence while they were misused by part of the press to kick the NHS. Why was he doing this?

1 Dorries Defames The Wrong Man The fragrant Nadine, in kicking Peter Oborne of the Telegraph, picked on the wrong person. Unlike her, Oborne is universally respected in the press and around Westminster. So expect her to get more stick from the Tel in the coming weeks.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
