Top Six - May 14

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have places to go and people to see later. So there.
6 So Farewell Then Simon Danczuk No longer even a nominally Labour politician, Spanker Si departed from his old party with customary bad grace, tearing up his membership card and suggesting he would contest Rochdale as an independent.

5 Simon Danczuk’s Ex-Labour Pals The former MP is now standing as an independent candidate in Rochdale, and at least two Labour members have nominated him. So one now claims to have resigned, with the other set to be expelled. One wonders if he told them at the time.

4 Arron Banks Protests Too Much The former UKIP backer complained at the Guardian’s Carole Cadwalladr for suggesting there were ties between his part of the Leave campaign and Cambridge Analytica. This was most unwise: Ms Cadwalladr had all the incriminating evidence to hand.

3 Tommy Robinson Arrested The former EDL head man found himself in hot water after arranging another of his “polite conversations” outside Canterbury Crown Court. The Police took a dim view and he was nicked on suspicion of contempt of court.

2 Amber Rudd’s NHS IT Shame The Home Secretary was most vociferous last March in her demands that computer firms like Apple provide back doors into their software to allow the spooks in. But when a back door into NHS IT systems was used along with a piece of software written by the spooks, it was someone else’s fault.

1 Uber - The Game Is Up The CJEU has dismissed the idea that Uber is only a technology company, its drivers have been making so little money that they have been sleeping in their cars, their cheerleaders have fallen silent, and the Mail is on their case again.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
