So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have yet another unfolding scandal to deal with later. So there.
6 Sun Sex Story Desperation Third week on the Top Six for this post. The Murdoch doggies at the Super Soaraway Currant Bun demanded the right to speak freely about a “Married Celebrity Parent”. But not John Whittingdale.
5 Guido Fawked - Jukes Whoppers Busted The perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his rabble at the Guido Fawkes blog went after Byline Media co-curator Peter Jukes. Except much of what they said about him was totally untrue. No surprise there, then.
4 Piers Morgan’s Sofa Meltdown When Evan Harris of campaigning group Hacked Off appeared on the Good Morning Britain sofa alongside Piers Morgan, there was only going to be one result. The normally unflappable Morgan was left looking a little shaken after he had been reduced to saying something untrue to try and silence his guest.
3 Whittingdale Too Close To Murdoch While he was brushing off the concerns of the little people, Culture Secretary John Whittingdale had no problem cosying up to Creepy Uncle Rupe at his Christmas Party.
2 Byline - Guido Fawkes In Trouble After the Telegraph back-pedalled on Andrew “Transcription Error” Gilligan’s hatchet job on Byline Media and Hacked Off, the Fawkes rabble’s claim that Eric X Li had written articles for a website that includes anti-Semitic conspiracy theories was cruelly exposed.
1 Simon Danczuk - Pants On Fire Rochdale’s nominally Labour MP went on the Victoria Derbyshire show and told some serious whoppers about the “sexting” scandal, and Parliamentary watchdog IPSA. Then he re-hired ex-wife Karen, whom he had sacked only last year after previously having to give her a final written warning.
And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
