Top Six – August 24

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have the washing to put out later. So there.
6 Bad Hair Pundit Loses It Damian Thompson, clueless pundit of no fixed hair appointment, refused to drop his snarking at Jonathan Portes of NIESR. So here’s a few factual nuggets about the whole thing.

5 Laurie Penny – Flannelled Fool Confesses Ms Penny’s new book gave us an interesting insight into the behaviour of the right-wing blogosphere. And the behaviour she describes is particularly unpleasant.

4 Don’t Menshn Sainsbury’s A Sainsbury’s store in London, faced with an anti-Israel protest outside, temporarily took its kosher produce off the shelves, but put it all back later in the day. Cue righteous and totally pointless ranting from Louise Mensch.

3 Gazza And A Sun U-Turn The Super Soaraway Currant Bun was going to tell readers that Paul Gascoigne was about to make a comeback. That was, until the Mirror found he’d fallen off the wagon again. So it went with the pack and exploited the unfortunate Gazza to flog a few more papers.

2 Toby Young – Now It IS All Balls The Loathsome Tobes pretended that a school that was not a Free School really was one, because its results were rather good. Meanwhile, he forgot about all those Free School controversies and failures. So here’s a reminder for him.

1 Magaluf – Sun In New Creepiness Low Rupe’s downmarket troops found a couple screwing in the shallows. Very few who were there were shocked. Still, nudge-nudge and all that, eh? What a bunch of leering pervs.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
