Top Six – February 10

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, there’s a queue of other blog stuff waiting. So there.

6 Plebgate Legal Action – Press Silent  Andrew Mitchell sued the Sun over its coverage of his alleged Downing Street confrontation with the Police. Most of the press kept schtum and hoped no-one would notice.

5 Tory Twitter Row Rumbles On The behaviour of the @toryeducation Twitter account continued to draw attention to its penchant for smears and personal attacks. And the net started to close on Dominic Cummings.

4 Private Eye Commons Sketch – Spot The Author The latest offering from “Gavel Basher” looked awfully familiar. Several commenters and Tweeters put forward the same name. But that name sent word that it wasn’t him.

3 Michael Gove – You’re Fired After “Oiky” Gove’s U-Turn on GCSEs, and the behaviour of his SpAds, it looked more and more as if it was time for someone to be sent down the road. Like the lot of them.

2 Guido Fawked – One More In The Eye The perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his rabble went after Private Eye magazine once more, claiming that Lord Gnome’s finest were recycling other folks’ content. That would be the same Fawkes blog that ripped off the Eye’s Street of Shame heading style for its Media Guido section. Another fine mess.

1 Delingpole Scrapes The Misogyny Barrel Still top of the chart for a second week is Del Boy getting himself into serious trouble for a viciously unpleasant Twitter attack on Suzanne Moore in defence of his pal Toby Young, so serious that he actually apologised. Sort of.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
