Top Six – September 16

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I’ve got some gardening to do. So there.

6 Hillsborough – The Truth What many had long suspected was laid bare, as Police cover-ups and smears were confirmed. And this blog was not the only one telling former Tory MP Irvine Patnick to hand back his K for his involvement.

5 Tabloid Troll – Shove Your Apology Washed-up hack Dennis Rice, still pretending anonymity as Tabloid Troll, made an equally anonymous apology to me for his disgraceful behaviour. But, as the weasel words did not go nearly far enough, I told Den what he could do with it.

4 Thatcher T-Shirts – No, No, No, No, No Mark Wallace, former stalwart of the so-called Taxpayers’ Alliance, tried to pull a fast one by suggesting that public funds were being used to pay for the notorious Thatcher T-Shirts put on sale and then removed from view at TUC 2012. The odious flannelled fool Henry Cole turned the suggestion into assertion, and was echoed by Tory MP Conor Burns. But none of them bothered to check first. I did. And they weren’t.

3 Murdoch Is Served (81) You thought the stables had been cleaned out? Not on your Nellie. Now a Sun hack has been nicked on suspicion of handling stolen goods, that being a Labour MP’s mobile phone. The next generation has arrived.

2 Guido Fawked – Less Trusted Than Facebook The rabble at the Guido Fawkes blog pretended that a new poll showed they were better than the tabloids. But the figures on trust had them at the very bottom of the pile, behind broadcasters, the qualities, the tabloids, and, yes, behind Twitter and Facebook. Another fine mess.

1 Andrew Marr Foot In Mouth The host of The Andy Marr Show (tm) found himself in the papers for all the wrong reasons last weekend, then quizzed “Auguste” Balls on “putting out feelers” when others were seeing photos of him having a boozy clinch with the series producer of his upcoming BBC history show. Then the Spectator offered a prize for the young woman’s name. So I provided the name. No admission or prize from the Speccy yet. We’re waiting.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
