So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I’ve got some washing to put out. So there.

6 LIBOR – Anatomy Of A Hatchet Job Following on the Barclays revelations came the organised efforts of the Fourth Estate to pin the whole affair on Pa Broon, Shriti Vadera and “Auguste” Balls. But all that resulted was a failed hatchet job.

5 Terror Arrests – Muslims Again! While the usual suspects in the press went over the top as six people were arrested on terror charges, none of them reported that someone in Burnley had been charged under the two recent acts. But the bloke in Burnley was not a Muslim. What a coincidence.

4 Fox Shoots Itself To Save Time The much trumpeted return of Liam Fox turned out to be a damp squib, and little more than a failed attempt by the so-called Taxpayers’ Alliance to garner publicity. Fox is still damaged goods and won’t be making a comeback while anyone in his party has their brain plugged in.

3 Beeb Appointment Already Wrong Shock The new BBC Director General turned out to be a career broadcasting man, so all the hacks who had urged the Corporation not to appoint someone without that experience immediately about turned and argued it the other way.

2 Cable Car To Nowhere The Emirates Air Line opened, but by its second full day of operation it wasn’t exactly busy. In this post, you can see the less than full cars, the less than populous areas around the two terminals, and the less than wonderful views. But it gave Bozza lots of photo opportunities.

1 Guido Fawked – Russian Hypocrisy The perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his tame gofer, the flannelled fool Henry Cole, at the Guido Fawkes blog attacked Labour MP Chris Bryant for having a column at the Independent, which they asserted to be a “billionaire’s bung”, and suggested this was taking money from a Russian oligarch. But at the same time they were taking advertising for the Russian Embassy, so were taking a bung from the Russian Government. Another fine mess.
