Donald Trump - A Fart Of A Deal

With the possibility increasing daily that his “diplomacy” on the Russia-Ukraine conflict will prove to be Dead On Arrival, more and more citizens, along with increasing numbers outside the USA, are realising that Combover Crybaby Donald Trump was only a successful businessman for the purposes of The Apprentice and its various spin-offs. Reality is somewhat different.

This is, after all, someone whose, to quote the Wikipedia entry, “over-leveraged hotel and casino businesses in Atlantic City and New York filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection six times between 1991 and 2009”. A casino should be a license to print money, so how Trump’s businesses had to file for Chapter 11 protection should tell you something about his abilities.

Or lack of them. Most major banks wanted nothing to do with him following those corporate bankruptcies. Yet this was the individual whose signature book is all about the Art Of The Deal. And this is what he no doubt wanted the world to think about when he waded into the conflict between Russia, the aggressor, and Ukraine, the country that repelled them for three years.

He, the great Donald J Trump, would show his detractors that he alone could secure a deal to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Maybe his peacemaking efforts could even secure him the Nobel Peace Prize. Joe Biden never won that! Those Fake News Media channels and papers never won it either!

And so it came to pass that the Trump Gang let the world know that continuing the conflict in Ukraine was pointless, which is true, but also that the bad guys were, at least by implication, those headed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which was a pack of propagandist lies, except in pro-Russian talking points, something that only fuelled the suspicion that Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and his gang in the Kremlin had Kompromat on Trump.

But not to worry, The Donald then showed the world his superior diplomatic ability by inviting Zelenskyy to the White House, and with his monumentally stupid Vice President J D Vance, ambushed the Ukrainian President, following that by having the visitors’ delegation thrown out. He stopped aid and intelligence sharing for Ukraine. As if Russia was pulling his strings.

Then he made sure that the word got out: Ukraine could have had a deal, although what kind of deal was not told. European leaders reaffirmed their support for Ukraine; Trump became enraged and claimed the EU was “very, very nasty”. He then rambled at length about the EU having been formed in order to screw over the USA. Not much Art Of The Deal on view here.

Nor was there much art in Trump’s next move, reported by Kyiv Post: “Trump reportedly won’t restore military aid or intelligence sharing with Ukraine - even if Kyiv and Washington strike a deal on mineral resources - NBC News … He wants Zelensky to cede territory to Russia, take steps toward holding elections, and possibly step down”. Some deal he’s offering, or maybe not.

As for his understanding, or lack of it, of actions having consequences, as he rambles, threats, and blusters, orders for F-35 fighter aircraft are being cancelled in favour of alternatives built not in the USA. More jobs lost, more momentum for the economic downturn. His Ukraine ceasefire proposal was effectively ignored by Putin. But then came the fruits of that diplomacy!

THOUSANDS OF UKRAINIAN TROOPS ARE COMPLETELY SURROUNDED BY THE RUSSIAN MILITARY, AND IN A VERY BAD AND VULNERABLE POSITIONhe told. But not to worry, “I have strongly requested to President Putin that their lives be spared”. Except this was very obvious Kremin propaganda. And that Peace Prize was not getting nearer.

Maybe he could get the press to be a little nicer to him. Not after rantingThese newspapers are really no different than a highly paid political operative. And it has to stop. It has to be illegal ... it just cannot be legal”. The one who brought back free speech, eh? Trump’s deal making wizardry is just a sham. The Russians are laughing at him. He’s crashing the economy.

But he is good at rambling incoherently. So that’s all right, then.

Useful Idiot Trump is the exemplar for Useful Idiots all over the world: infinitely useful and profoundly idiotic. The Useful Idiot's Useful Idiot.

Now he's dismantling WW2 and Cold War propaganda/CIA mouthpiece/soft power radio station, Voice of America.
    For allegedly broadcasting 'radical propaganda'!:

Putin's been blocking VofA broadcasts, Musk called for it to be shut down, the useful idiot Trump has obliged. What a sordid little troilist consummation those three names conjure up. Scarcely believable that they have vocal defenders among us.

Incidentally, Gu**di*n music and sports writer Richard Williams has a piece on his Blue Moment blog today on Voice of America's contribution to his early musical education (and that of young East Europeans in the Soviet era): https://thebluemoment.com/2025/03/17/silencing-the-voice-of-america/

  7. We'll see what comes out of the Trump-Putin phone call tomorrow. All decent people will hope it ends a terrible war that should never have happened.

Meanwhile the Merz-Macron-Stürmer-Meloni gang want the killing to continue in Ukraine as they do in Palestine. All with the propaganda backing of corporate media and its hate pedlars like Murdoch/Rothermere and their gutless employees and "readers".

The remnants of nazism and fascism still threaten world peace. Just as it almost destroyed civilisation in the last century. Some people just never learn.

    1. Indeed it shouldn't. But that's what happens when a megalomaniac sends tanks in to 'secure peace for fellow Russians'. Doubtless the people that swallow this cobblers, would have agreed with Chamberlain.

Peace in our time, safety for the Sudenten Germans, and the appeasers satisfied. The only teensy problem being, as putin is now, Hitler was then. Merely buying time for his next aggressive move.

You don't have to be a 'war monger' to recognize, then as now, people that have their opponents thrown out of 5th floor windows, that imprison others, en masse, that persecute minorities, all things the 'left' surely should oppose, are not likely to have any interest in 'peace'.

As for Trump, any deal robs Ukraine of security, mineral rights and helps enrich Trumps rotten pals. Amazing how none of that matters when temporary peace, once more pleases the appeasers...

I think I’m with Anonymous 07.36 on this one. Here's why:

‘We’ll see….’ is pure Trump, one of his stock of evasive, intentionally vague and folksy constructions. The naïve credulousness of the rest of the first sentence? Standard unthinking 'positivity'.

‘All decent people’ is clicheed cant.
‘A terrible war that should never happened’ lacks only ‘and it wouldn’t have started at all if I 'd been President’ to make it the usual unevidenced and dimwittedly- boastful authenticTrump quote.

Trump is notorious for regurgitating Putin lines and this post (Anonymous 19.53) seems happy to regurgitate Trump regurgitating Putin.
A pro-Putin bot? Probably. Anonymous Tankie adopting a new ‘moderate’ style? Possibly. What’s the difference?

Anyway, just by the by, here are the names of a few other historical figures who would also claim to have the avoidance of conflict as their motivation and who, in their time, had to face down similar ‘warmongering mass murderers’ to the ones the peace-loving Trump, Putin and their noble apologists are currently standing up against:

      Marshall Petain
      Oswald Mosley
      William Joyce
      Ramsay MacDonald,
      Stanley Baldwin
      Neville Chamberlain,
      Duke of Windsor,
      Baron Redesdale
      Unity Mitford
      Diana Mitford
      Lord Rothermere
      Viscount Lymington
      Prince Philip
      Archibald Ramsay
      Pierre Laval
      Sir Samuel Hoare
      and, last but not least,

      VIDKUN (unquiffed) QUISLING!

(And I'm sure that, like their present-day equivalents, they all meant well)

Excellent Red Nose Day clown logic, Tankie @ 12.13!

      1. Someone recognises the need to stand up to or face down brutal and unprovoked aggression from a ruthless dictator with designs on all the countries which used to be part of the USSR empire and who certainly don't want to be part of it again.

      2. That someone, QED, therefore, obviously, must also support Israeli genocide in Gaza and the West Bank, the US bombing of Yemen, Blair's collusion in Bush's brain-dead invasion of Iraq and the consequent and entirely predictable mayhem that ensued, the Gulf of Tonkin deception, the Bay of Pigs, Churchill's gas-bombing of Bolshevik soldiers in 1919, the Irish Famine and, probably, the rape of the Sabine women.

Could you possibly attempt to join the dots for me, please, as I can't really see that 2 should necessarily follow on from 1?

    9. Burlington Bertie from Bow31 March 2025 at 14:52

Of course Tim can block posts, but I have never experienced it myself and, given the excitable, repetitive, predictable and often rabid nature of the Tankie posts which *are* published (particularly lately when he submits endless talking-to-himself stuff), it seems hard to imagine what kind of ultra-nonsense would qualify for 'cancelling'.

I think Tim has a kind of Zelo St 'statute of limitations' which stops people posting on old material but I can cee no explanation for your posts not appearing and his publishing of the Tankie's output over the years seems to argue for Tim's infinite patience and tolerance rather than any tendency to suppress.

But back to the matter in hand: the real reason for Tankie's reticence to answer my question is best illustrated by his 'answer' at 12.40 above; ie he doesn't actually *have* an answer as his recourse to generalised abuse and name-calling makes clear. And which response, in fact, provides another example of exactly the deformed logical processes I was asking him to explain in the first place.

He was an honourable and good writer in the best traditions of honest journalism - which automatically meant of course that his work was smeared by fascist employee Andrew Neil in the Murdoch Sunday Slimes. The same smear tactics were used against Robert Fisk after he exposed British lying propaganda and war criminality during the mass murder attack on Iraq.

Of course, if we upset the poor, hard done by, rich, they'll leave and take their money with them. Say working class Torys, middle class rich wannabes, and the Tory press.

In case you're feeling guilty, Tankie, it's not too late to turn out on Saturday and actually DO something instead of just shouting at the clouds on here. Click link to find local action:

If not, at least do without your usual MacDonalds and coke tomorrow or give up the houmous, dates and avocados* for a week
    * green or black things with knobbly or smooth skin and green flesh, very popular down here in Babylon. Peruvian or Mexican alternatives are available

It's your own fault events have overwhelmed you, me ol' Micawber, and pulled your trousers down around your ankles.

That's what you get for all those weasel apologist words for the Zionist-without-qualification. Get used to it.

      You people never learn.

So your sole contribution to the major anti-Israeli- genocide movement's latest campaign on Saturday was to write the tedious lines above, was it, Tankie? What's the problem, the PSC not Putin-aligned enough for you?

Still, you must feel really proud. Well done.

Tut tut, me ol' Micawber. You get more incoherent with each post.

Understandable, though, because your standard module tory propaganda fails whenever it encounters reality. Plus your "heroes" all have feet of clay.

It's the inevitable fate of all warmongering Quislings.

I asked ChatGPT to write an 80 word criticism of Labour in the style of an overexcited Marxist schoolkid. This is what it produced:

'Oh, the Labour Party! What a joke! They pretend to be socialist but sell out to the capitalist establishment at every turn. They talk about equality but support austerity, privatization, and endless exploitation! The whole lot of them are just bourgeois puppets, pretending to fight for the working class while lining their pockets. They’ve forgotten Marx, Engels, and the struggle of the proletariat. It’s a betrayal of everything the working class stands for, and it’s infuriating! Revolution, not compromise!'

Oddly genteel and not half as good as the real thing, eh readers?

    1. Considering it's been produced by AI, it's less boring, more coherent, and lacking in repetition.

      Very disturbing.
