And so it came to pass that Stephen Yaxley Lennon, who styles himself Tommy Robinson, was deported from Mexico, on a flight which landed yesterday at Manchester Airport. Before completing the trek through border control, baggage reclaim and customs, the cops nicked him, just to be on the safe side. Lennon protested that he had done nothing. The cops apologised. Lennon showed his gratitude by heaping abuse on them.

He had also broken the law by recording his encounter with one of the Police. So he had not “done nothing”. But this was a mere diversion from the upcoming main event: after he had crossed to the groundside part of the airport, Lennon recorded a message which even now will be being pored over by lawyers, and indeed court officials. Here’s the shtick.

“I keep seeing people go on about my bankruptcy … you go bankrupt, you’re discharged after 12 months, which means I’m no longer bankrupt”. Wrong. Lennon has not yet been discharged from bankruptcy: there are questions he needs to answer about the information he gave in his initial application. That was what the recent court hearing was about.

But do go on. “[Bankruptcy] caused the destruction of my marriage”. Whether his marriage actually has been “destroyed” will be one consideration before the next court hearing. Lawyers may already be seeking out passenger lists for that flight to Cancún: if, as has been rumoured, his ex-wife was part of the group, that may be used against him when he claims that any assets in her name are nothing to do with him. Anyhow, carry on, eh?

“When you’re discharged … I’m discharged [no you aren’t - see above] which means I have no debt. I don’t owe Jamal any money. I don’t owe lawyers any money. I don’t owe anyone any money. And at that point, you’re free - to open a bank account, start working and earn money … all stop going on about the bankruptcy, please”.

People can, and will, “go on about the bankruptcy”, because, once more, Lennon has not been discharged from it. Which brings us back to that court hearing - the one where Lennon failed to turn up. But, guess what, “It’s over. Hope not Hate lied to you all … big grift [he knows all about big grifts] … after 11 months, the top insolvency investigation team in London, they come back and told them all - there’s no money”.

That’s what the courts are going to ascertain - not Lennon. But, sadly, there was more. “I’m not bankrupt, I’m discharged from bankruptcy. They’re not happy about that, which is why they’re still trying to get me in the court … people saying they got a warrant out for my arrest … they haven’t got a warrant out for my arrest”. Had there been a warrant out for his arrest, that information would not need to have been made public. Try again.

“I had good reason why I wasn’t in court last month … and the court are aware of this … I let the court know”. He requested a postponement - and his request was declined. Also, by shooting his mouth off about it, he confirms that he knew about the court date. He was told that a “penal order” had been issued, which required him to attend court, and that if he did not attend, he could face a fine or imprisonment. He knew what he was doing.

Instead, a leering Stephen Lennon has just given the courts one big verbal middle finger. Will this count against him? You might wish to ask that - I couldn’t possibly comment.
