A Partial December Sabbatical

This is one of those troublesome public service announcements.

All things, as the Buddha and Hari Georgeson have observed, must pass. Zelo Street is not yet over, but there has to be a lull in proceedings occasionally, given the production rate of blogposts has been maintained for a whole decade, even continuing during holiday breaks, usually with a pause only over Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

That pace cannot be maintained indefinitely, and especially as next month sees a significant increase in my personal workload elsewhere, something has to give.

So there will be blogposts in December, but not very many. I may be back, though

  2. Many thanks for all you have done, Tim. And hopefully will continue to do some time in the future.

Your blog posts are an invaluable contribution to truth and decency. You will be sorely missed if you decide to call it a day.

You and yours stay safe. Keep on keeping on.

  3. Those Brussels Sprouts don't boil themselves and they need to be watched.
Many thanks for your excellent work.

  5. Have a nice break, Tim, you've earned it. Zelo is still the first blog I check most days. It's never less than excellent.

  6. Thanks for the quality journalism.

  7. It's going to be very different not having zelo-street to read.
I would like to say thank you for all you have written over the years. Good luck Tim.✊

  8. By all means take a break Tim, but I hope this isn't a soft declaration that you're winding down to the point of nothing in 2021. I call by every day and have over the past 7 years. I don't agree with everything you blog but you're needed in the blogosphere, if only to call out the bloated Fawkes clown and his stream of garbage. Keep safe mate.

  12. Dear Zelo ,
Selfishly speaking as an old man I’ll be sorry to see you wind down , like MikeD @19:18 your’s is the first blog I look at most days . However after going abroad for a few years during Thatcher’s Governance I understand the situation of ‘banging your head against a wall’ , so good luck in your next endeavours ,
    Derek

  14. Really appreciate your blog which, for some unknown reason, I came to late in the day. But you have to keep your head above water. As a PR and journalist myself I know how much time these reports of yours can take-but the quality and understanding you gave to your stories -the sharpness of your take on things, the timeliness and accuracy of your reporting has done an incredible service to truth and justice. Far better than anything else around.

  16. Well, if you were booked as Father Christmas at Debenhams, I've got bad news for you...

This is terrible news, Tim. Certainly you deserve a break from a world populated by Fox and Fawkes, Hartley Doodaa and Squat Toby, Tommeh, de Pfeiffel, Tom Hunter-Dunne, Brillo Andy, Nadine, Esther, Priti Hopeless, Tawdry Greig and the rest. But please don't leave us alone with them for long!

All the best for whatever new enterprise.
Especially if it's going to involve political assassination.

  18. All the best and have a good Christmas.

  19. Your blog has been excellent - many thanks for all your commentry and your wonderful nicknames for people. "Doug Murray the K", "The non-bullying Tom Newton-Dunn", and the endless stream of Fawkes teaboys/sandwich getters being my particular favourites!

Good luck in your other endeavours, Tim.

I sincerely hope things don't get too much and you can still find the time to provide us all with the eye-opening literature you have done over the years on a fairly regular (if rationed) basis.

Take it cheesy, squire, and a myriad of thanks for putting us wise.

  23. Many thanks for your hard work. It's a sad state of affairs in this country when one bloke publishing a blog does more to hold government to account than a large proportion of the broadcast and print media put together. That's why we'll miss you.

Very best wishes to you and your family and looking forward to more whenever you have the time.

  24. We are glad you find any time to post at all, given that you offer a free service!

Hope your work goes well and you enjoy your rest. It would be good if you found time to make some posts but one cannot serve from an empty vessel, so I hope have a solid December, Christmas & New Year.

You're Santa, and I claim my five pounds!

  26. Well, personally, I think you've left putting the sprouts on a bit late....

But seriously, have a good break/restoration of work/life balance and thanks for being an oasis of honesty in a desert of liars and charlatans.
