Nick Griffin Does NOT Back Corbyn

The right-leaning part of our free and fearless press was beside itself as it latched on last year to a claim that far-right figures were lending their support to Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. Not only Nick Griffin, late of the BNP, but also ex KKK leader David Duke had backed Jezza. It looked too good to be true. Because it was too good to be true.
Henry Zeffman of the Murdoch Times led off with the smear, telling “A white supremacist and former grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan praised the election of Jeremy Corbyn to the Labour leadership as a sign that people were recognising ‘Zionist power’ and ‘Jewish establishment power’”. And there was more. Rather a lot more.

David Duke, who led a branch of the KKK based in Louisiana in the 1970s, told listeners to his radio show in 2015: ‘It’s a really good kind of evolutionary thing, isn’t it, when people are beginning to recognise Zionist power and ultimately the Jewish establishment power in Britain and in the western world.’” The Sun then roped in Griffin.
The Labour boss was backed up by the right-wing British National Party's former leader, Nick Griffin”. The problem was that Duke had, in the meantime, referred to Jezza as “Marxist filth” - two years after the claim Zeffman had discovered. And now has come confirmation, in his own inimitable style, that Nick Griffin is not actually backing Corbyn.
After noting that someone at Jezza’s recent appearance before the CBI had raised allegations of anti-Semitism, Griffin mused “Have read that headline several times. Can easily be read that someone at the Mail still has the occasional ‘hurrah for the Blackshirts’ moment!” The Daily Mail’s history is so well-known that even Griffin is familiar with it.
So who would he be voting for? Out came a little whiff of anti-Semitism all his own. “None of them. Though I did give the Zio-media a stick to beat Corbyn by saying I'd vote for him on foreign policy grounds. But unless he comes out to oppose the UK sanctions on Syria that are killing thousands of children & adding to the refugee flood, I won't be doing so”.
So Nick Griffin is not, contrary to the smears of the right-wing press, backing the Labour leader. Nor is David Duke. But someone out there on the far right is endorsing a party leader: step forward Stephen Yaxley Lennon, who styles himself Tommy Robinson. Back in September the Scotsman told its readers “Yaxley-Lennon, who was jailed for nine months in July after being found guilty of contempt of court, is believed to have told supporters via an affiliated news channel that Mr Johnson's decision to expel 21 Tories who rebelled over Brexit was ‘refreshing’”. And there was a more explicit endorsement to come.
Everyone should vote for Boris Johnson … If we want Brexit, if we believe in democracy, we have to have Brexit. So yeah. Go Boris”. And as far as is known, Bozo has not repudiated the backing of Stephen Lennon, despite the calls for him to do so.

What you will not read in the right-wing press. I’m sure there’s a good explanation.
