US Trade Deal - If We’ll Be Their Poodle

The Murdoch Times has once more been promoting the boss’ favourite administration, that of Combover Crybaby Donald Trump, telling readers “US promises fast-track trade deals after Brexit … We’re with you and eager to negotiate, key Trump aide assures Johnson”. What is not told is that the Trump Gang sees Britain’s departure from the EU as an opportunity to turn the UK into an obedient puppet state.
You think I jest? Consider who has been making the assurances - John “Wiggy” Bolton, referred to as a foreign policy “hawk” by those suffering from an excess of restraint. Bolton is looking for leverage over Europe and the Middle East, and sees Brexit as the moment he can put the arm on a weakened UK in order to put one over on the EU. And others.

The Times first of all tells readers “The United States will enthusiastically back a no-deal Brexit and work with Britain immediately on sector-by-sector trade arrangements … John Bolton … promised that such a fast-track approach would achieve progress more rapidly than a comprehensive agreement”. As for Congress, well, that was no problem.

[Bolton] dismissed fears that Congress could block a trade deal over the impact of a no-deal Brexit on Ireland and said he did not understand concerns that deepening trade ties could leave the NHS vulnerable”. The Murdoch Sun helpfully provided examples of how this new dispensation would work, but instead gave the game away rather more.

Mr Bolton said the White House will back the UK ‘enthusiastically’ whatever the Brexit outcome. He said: ‘That’s my message. We’re with you, we’re with you.’ He said deals could be tied up rapidly in manufacturing and industry, while more complex sectors such as financial services would take longer. Mr Bolton named car-making as an example, raising the prospect of cheaper American cars in the UK as early as next year”.
How much am I bid for this sector of the UK economy?

Well, well. So even if UK car-making survives a no-deal Brexit, it will be finally killed off by US imports undercutting it. And there was one ominous giveaway in the Times splash: “The US would wait until after Brexit before seeking to exert pressure on Downing Street to fall in line over issues such as the Iran nuclear deal and Huawei’s involvement in the 5G network, he added”. Putting the arm on the UK at a moment of weakness.

We would get the trade deal, provided we were prepared to be Washington’s poodle. And each sector of the economy would be picked off, one by one, when the country would be at its most desperate. Cars imported from the USA, wiping out our own industry and jobs. Same with agriculture. Same with financial services.

And we know that Bolton is lying through his teeth about Congress: Speaker Pelosi has said unequivocally that unless the Good Friday Accord is honoured, no deal with the US will get past the House. As her team has a majority in the House, that’s one of those statements that, as Dubya Bush might have put it, you can take to the bank.

Our alleged Prime Minister Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, and his pals, like to talk about the UK being a “Vassal State” of the EU. What they don’t like to admit is that they are lining us up to become a “Vassal State” of the USA - by the back door.

We are being lined up to become a US client state. A subservient client state.

  1. Britain became a Yankified vassal state many decades ago. All those Yank military bases aren't here to promote Mickey Mouse "culture".

Bolton?......A comic throwback to inept silent films slapstick. Just before the Nazis subverted Germany.

The "trade deal"?......An intensified far right looting of national assets. Yank capitalism calls it "opportoonities". All of it hand-in-glove with the British version.

Let them get away with it and we really will be nothing more than an impoverished Airstrip One. And we'll deserve it.

  2. American cars? They aren't suitable for British roads. Do they come in RHD versions, or will Trump insist on us driving on the right?
And what about the dealerships needed to sell and service them?

    1. Chrysler?

Last thing we need on British roads are gargantuan pick-up trucks like the Ford F-350...

  3. We, under Alexander the Great Pretender, may become a vassal state of the US under Trump, but Trump and Bolton are in turn under the influence of those friends of Anon those pesky Russians (let alone the Saudis and Kushner).

Chris Vickery has an interesting Twitter feed for those interested as to why a GOP digital operative has systems servers physically located in Russia. Possibly to be outside of the US legal system?

It is getting so complicated as to who owes allegiance to whom in this crazy mixed up shook up world.

  4. Both Bolton and his boss Drumpf can bugger off and don't come back. Problem is both of them are pulling BlowJob's strings. We really need that General Election to remove him and his cronies.

A chlorinated chicken in every pot and a gas-guzzling automotive dinosaur in every garage.
And all promised by the maddest-looking coot in world politics.

    How could we ever resist?

  6. You gotta hand it to those Russkis.

Somehow they manage to control US government policy despite the best efforts of the homicidal maniacs in the Pentagon, professional interferers and murderers at the CIA, paranoid fruitloops at the FBI, the Defence Intelligence Agency, the Department of Homeland Security, Military Intelligence, the Office of Naval Intelligence and the National Security Council...to say nothing of the eavesdropping NATO gang along its borders and all of the “intelligence” agencies across Europe and Asia.

They even managed to make Mueller looked like a right shifty know-nothing twat in front of the House Judiciary Committee and the House Intelligence Committee.

No wonder they managed to get a full colonel in the FSB directly off a Moscow incoming flight unnoticed by the dozy MI6 dick heads at Heathrow, onto public transport and undetected to Salisbury – but caught on city centre CCTV.

Christ, all those trillions of US dollahs spent and fuck all to show for it.

Pity they can’t keep their nuclear weapons at home under control.

All those millions of roubles spent and gone up in smoke?

  11. Where do American politicians go when they need to gert re elected?

    From time.com

"Ahead of the midterms, one of Russian aluminum producer Rusal's major shareholders, Len Blavatnik, contributed over $1 million through his companies to a GOP campaign fund tied to Mitch McConnell. Rusal has invested millions in a Kentucky aluminum plant."

    Next question

Where do UK politicians go when they need cash for referendums/elections?

Answers on a postcard to the Election Commission. As if they would be able to do anything about it!
