Boris Appoints Lawbreaker

While our free and fearless press invites us to pass the sick bucket with a series of puke-inducing and crudely sycophantic appraisals of yet another unelected Prime Minister - although, unlike Gordon Brown, this will be fine as the new PM will be both a Tory, and a journalist - news emerges that London’s formerly very occasional Mayor Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is about to make a crucial appointment to his team.
A total Muppet. And Elmo from Sesame Street

And to show that he is well able to better the excess of the Roman Emperor Caligula, who reputedly made his horse Incitatus a consul, Bozza has apparently decided to give a place in his team to someone who has overseen forthright lawbreaking and demonstrated a flagrant and repeated contempt for Parliament. Yes, he’s lined up a job for Dominic Cummings, formerly chief polecat to Michael “Oiky” Gove at the Department for Education.
Cummings coming back. Contempt never felt so good

Such is the lack of journalistic inquiry being applied by the BBC nowadays where the Tories are concerned that their political editor Laura Kuenssberg has happily told “One big appointment coming today - Dominic Cummings expected to be senior advisor to the new PM - Vote Leave chief moving into govt - huge brain and experienced in govt, and will be applauded by Brexiteers - highly controversial too”. Huge brain? Someone measured it?
That would be the same Dominic Cummings who was reputed to be behind the infamous Tory Education Twitter feed, and who, last year, refused to appear before the DCMS Committee. As the Guardian reported at the time, “Dominic Cummings, who has been credited as the brains behind the successful Brexit campaign, told the select committee investigating fake news that he would not be willing to answer questions in public before the Electoral Commission finishes its ongoing investigation into his campaign”.

A summons was issued via the Serjeant at Arms. “Cummings rejected this summons, angering MPs on the committee who wanted to ask questions about the use of Facebook data during the EU referendum campaign”. And in March this year, he was declared to have been in contempt of Parliament, as the BBC then reported.
Vote Leave director Dominic Cummings should be reprimanded for refusing to take part in a parliamentary inquiry into fake news, MPs have said. The Privileges Committee said Mr Cummings had committed a contempt of Parliament by not appearing to give oral evidence when ordered to in 2018 … Mr Cummings said he had offered to give evidence under oath but was ignored”. He’d blustered and flannelled.

As the Observer’s Carole Cadwalladr has put it, “BREAKING: electoral law. The fastest & surest route to power. Cummings masterminded the massive Vote Leave electoral fraud. Johnson headed the campaign & has *never* answered qs about his involvement. Cummings kept his silence. And is now rewarded with top job. Truly, I despair … That’s Dom Cummings who was found to be in contempt of parliament. This is extraordinary”.
It’s extraordinary on two counts: One, that Bozza would appoint someone like Cummings, with his track record and clear contempt for Parliament, and Two, that the BBC’s political editor just passes on the information in a “yeah, whatever” manner.

What’s next, a peerage for Paul Staines? Damian Collins was unavailable for comment.

  1. You couldn't make it up, what are the odds that Esther McVey returns to finish off what she began, persecuting the sick and disabled?

  2. Laura "Daddy's Sweat Shops" Kuennsberg? BBC "News"?

Pffttt.....Lying tory bullshitters all. All my arse.

This morning some Beeb propaganda clerk referred to Bozo's "unique style". No, really.

And oo look who slithered on to the Bozo character reconstruction project!.....Only Cap'n Bell End himself, far right failure Toby Young.

  3. From his speech yesterday.
"and ping off the guy ropes of self-doubt and negativity."

Apparently he doesn't realise that guy ropes are essential. They hold things up. Tents, masts, telegraph poles, etc. Add to this his belief that returning spacecraft reenter frictionlessly. YET the mainstream media keeps telling us that he's intelligent.

  4. Nadine Dorries is suddenly very concerned about the lack of step free access at Flitwick Railway Station. The general consensus is she is up to something re her mate Boris.

  5. The BBC?

A few weeks ago I sent a FOI request to said propaganda organisation. Here's the reply I got:

"Thank you for your request to the BBC of 05 July 2019 seeking the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’):

“Selection of panel members on TV Question Time. Can you kindly confirm which individuals (by name) and department(s) are responsible for selection of the above, plus all criteria used during selection.”

The information you have requested is excluded from the Act because it is held for the purposes of ‘journalism, art or literature.’ The BBC is therefore not obliged to provide this information to you and will not be doing so on this occasion. Part VI of Schedule 1 to FOIA provides that information held by the BBC and the other public service broadcasters is only covered by the Act if it is held for ‘purposes other than those of journalism, art or literature”. The BBC is not required to supply information held for the purposes of creating the BBC’s output or information that supports and is closely associated with these creative activities1 . The limited application of the Act to public service broadcasters was to protect freedom of expression and the rights of the media under Article 10 European Convention on Human Rights (“ECHR”). The BBC, as a media organisation, is under a duty to impart information and ideas on all matters of public interest and the importance of this function has been recognised by the European Court of Human Rights. Maintaining our editorial independence is a crucial factor in enabling the media to fulfil this function. However, the BBC makes a huge range of information available about our programmes and content on bbc.co.uk."

The BBC is about as trustworthy as a barrel load of snails covered in excrement. London-based right wind propaganda clerks, nothing more.

  6. Over the past year the Conservative Party membership has grown by some 30% to reach 160,000, according to party figures. Arron Banks’ Leave UK has been very active in urging leave voters to join the Tories in order to replace Theresa May with a hard-line Brexiteer. Reports show the 36,000 rise in membership most pronounced in constituencies with remain supporting M.P.’s.

Barely a recent mention of this in our ‘free and fearless’ media. All we have is reports of a clear mandate from the tory membership for Boris Johnson to act upon.

Strip out a fair part of that 36,000 and concentrate on the voting figures from the long-standing members; the position is not as clear as it is supposed to seem.

Entryism… that’s only mentioned in connection to Labour.

  7. Excellent appointment, a man of great intellectual zeal with a healthy disregard for stupid rules and regulations. Visionaries like him will take this country forward whilst he drains the swamp of the rulebound moaning minnies unable to think for themselves. The regressive left continually attack people's credibility but fail to notice their successes. Like Mr Johnson, Mr Cummings is a winner. We are leaving, a great victory for democracy!
