If only he could quit playing the opinionated know-all, former Screws and Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan might be less disagreeable. Also, he would also be less prone to showing the world, usually to hilarious effect, that he is not as knowledgeable, even about showbiz, than he would like the world to think he is.
Such a big book. If only he had read it
The latest example of The Great Man being ritually Pwned, and all because of his inimitable combination of ignorance and pompous righteousness, came after Nigel “Thirsty” Farage had failed to convincingly bluster his way through an encounter with the host on The Andy Marr Show™ yesterday. Morgan decided, wrongly, that Nige had won.
“Nigel Farage looking & sounding like a leader on #Marr. Love him or loathe him, at least he believes in what he says & argues it with passion. His popularity comes from his authenticity & his new surge is happening because democracy is being denied to those who voted for Brexit”. A “leader” who is a shameless and congenital liar, evasive, peevish, and probably just as ignorant as Morgan. Which explains why he likes him.
But than, Morgan thinks Combover Crybaby Donald Trump is a credible occupant of the White House. Actor and director Reece Dinsdale was not impressed. “If you can’t tell the difference between ‘looking & sounding like a leader’ rather than faux indignation & empty bluster... then your opinion is worthless to me”. Good Yorkshire directness there.
Morgan could have let that go (no, he couldn’t have taken the thought on board, because, well, he couldn’t). But the temptation for dealing out the all-important put-down was too much. And so it came to pass. “This may explain why you haven’t had any lead roles for years”. Ah, the insouciance, the bravado, the touch of derring-do.
Sadly, Morgan had, to no surprise at all, not been doing his homework (again). And so back came Dinsdale. “Oh dear! If you’d done your homework, you’d see that I’ve been directing television drama, one of which last year won an RTS Award, beating two other nominated programs in the category... your morning show being one of them”. OUCH!
That’s going to hurt. But it wasn’t over. Barrie Preston asked Dinsdale “Nice one Reece. Has he blocked you yet? Thats his trade mark - or spouting ‘I've got more followers then you’”. Yes, for Piers Morgan, his is always bigger than yours.
What say Dinsdale? “I don’t follow him so I wouldn’t have a clue”. Double OUCH! That’s going to hurt a little more. But that’s what happens when you sneer in a built-up area before looking both ways. Still, there’s always blagging a table at the Chiltern Firehouse.
There must be some good use to which Piers Morgan can be put. But what? Answers on a postcard, and all that.

If shouting, interrupting, evading questions and overall shiftiness displays leadership qualities, then Moron's standards are lower than a worm's nether regions!
ReplyDeleteAs for democracy being denied, perhaps Moron ought to ask Brexiters such as Johnson who bottled out of being PM and walked away from his post as Foreign Sec. and Davis who also walked away from his post as Brexit Sec. (as well as Raab who succeeded him for all of four months) why THEY failed to deliver the Brexit they promised.
Furthermore, Moron on GMB this morning had Alan Sugar laying into the bigot Farage. Funnily enough, he did not mete out the same treatment to the rich and powerful Sugar as he did to Reece Dinsdale. I wonder why?
