Katie Hopkins Ship IS NOW ADRIFT

It seemed like such a good idea at the time: a bunch of so-called “Identitarians”, which is code for neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other assorted bigots, had chartered a ship, the C-Star, to tour the Mediterranean Sea in search of migrants they could then send back somewhere, despite such actions being illegal and likely to endanger life. The group were then endorsed by pro-am motormouth Katie Hopkins.

Indeed, Hatey Katie declared that she would be joining the C-Star at the Sicilian port of Catania and cruising the Med along with all those like-minded people. This campaign progressed not necessarily to her advantage: the C-Star was stopped at Port Suez and its crew arrested by the Egyptian authorities. It was then detained at Famagusta, in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, amid accusations of people trafficking.

Then the locals in Tunisia took action to prevent the C-Star docking, making it clear that they did not wish to deal with racists. And now the “Identitarians” have suffered the ultimate humiliation, after the C-Star had an engine failure off the Libyan coast. The ship is now adrift on the open seas, and has had to issue a distress signal.

This morning, a spokesman for EUNAVFOR MED (Operation Sophia) stated that what was described as the “Nazi Ship” had suffered an engine failure and asked for help. The Cutter Sea-Eye was the closest vessel to the C-Star, and has therefore been instructed by the MRCC in Rome (the maritime emergency service for the Western Mediterranean) to go to the aid of the stricken ship. The Sea-Eye has now arrived at the scene.
Michael Busch Heuer, captain of the Sea-Eye, has commented “to help [those] in distress is the duty of anyone who is at sea, without distinction to their origin, colour, religion or beliefs”. Even a bunch of Nazis and other hangers-on who are in the area just to disrupt rescue operations. The ultimate irony is that the crew are more than likely to have to depend on that rescue operation to get themselves to safety.

So if some of that crew have to leave the C-Star as part of the rescue operation, they will probably have to share with a load of the migrants they wanted to stop coming to Europe. Moreover, being good Nazis and white supremacists, it will entail swallowing significant amounts of pride for them to muck in with people who are not white.

Meanwhile, Ms Hopkins is silent, even in this hour of need for those she was willing to join on board this supremely ill-advised expedition. Which suggests that her game is less about giving assistance to the far-right and their ignoble cause, and more about generating More And Bigger Publicity Opportunities For Herself Personally Now.

What Mail Online are going to make of this is not yet known. Do they really want to be associated with Nazis and white supremacists making clowns of themselves on the high seas? Are they really going to wait until November, when Ms Hopkins’ contract is up?

Whatever happens, this shows that Katie Hopkins is no longer credible - not to the Sun, nor to Mail Online, and hopefully not to any credible media outlet.

  1. Wouldn't it be hilarious if Hopkins and her gang of fellow Nazi nutcases weren't allowed into any port in the world.

Imagine them sailing the high seas, forever refugees wanted by nobody.

Even a lunatic like Hopkins might be able to draw certain conclusions from it all. But I doubt it.
