Top Six - June 18

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have domestic stuff to do later. So there.
6 Piers Morgan Mocks Disability The co-host of ITV’s Good Morning Britain decided to sneer at someone with arthritis in their hands. Stay classy.

5 Don’t Menshn Class Libel Action It was one defamatory smear too many for (thankfully) former Tory MP Louise Mensch, as she wrongly called someone a Russian plant for disagreeing with her.

4 Murdoch Rides To May’s Rescue Any thought that London’s formerly very occasional Mayor Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson was on manoeuvres and ready to mount a challenge for the Tory leadership was snuffed out … by a Murdoch paycheque.

3 Sun Hospital Blag Could Be Fatal London’s King’s College Hospital complained to press regulator IPSO, alleging a Sun hack had tried to impersonate a relative of a Grenfell Tower survivor in order to get an interview with him. This could have serious consequences for the paper - if the Murdochs want that 61% of Sky they do not yet own.

2 The Sun Insults Young Voters The Murdoch goons knew exactly how to engage with all those young people who didn’t buy the paper - heap patronising abuse on them.

1 Grenfell Tower - THEY WERE WARNED Fires featuring buildings cladded with similar panels to those used in the Grenfell Tower refurbishment were common knowledge before the work started on the West London tower block. But they pressed on regardless.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
