After the overnight cruise missile strikes ordered by Combover Crybaby Donald Trump on a Syrian airbase, the reaction has been mixed. Our not at all unelected Prime Minister has backed The Donald to the hilt, while the Alt-Right, Russian supporters to a man and woman, have recoiled in horror. It will not have taken observers of pro-am motormouth Katie Hopkins long to figure out where her sympathies would lie.
Viewers may want to look away now
Ms Hopkins, needing to maximise her media appearances following her recent libel case loss, might have been thought to keep quiet on anything as controversial as this, but that would require a level of intellect way beyond her. So would the nagging thought that Trump only acted because He Saw It On Television: as I’ve said before, he is a modern-day Chauncey Gardiner character, reacting only to what the TV shows him.
So rather than keep schtum, Hatey Katie indulged in a mixture of horrified bemusement and rank hypocrisy. Citing Trump’s own previous opposition to Syrian intervention, and her belief that the gas attack earlier this week that wiped out whole families and left perhaps over 100 dead was some kind of false flag, she Tweeted “Who stole my President? #Syriahoax”. Nobody stole him. He just watched the TV.
Trump believes what he sees on the TV, especially if it’s on Fox News Channel (fair and balanced my arse). Katie can’t get her head round that. Nor can she figure out that repeating Russian talking points might not be a good thing, so off she went, parroting “An act of aggression on a sovereign nation”. Kremlin mini-me, anyone?
She’s also stupid enough to uncritically Re-Tweet Ann Coulter’s claim “Media THRILLED that Trump is destroying his Presidency”. His Presidency is already in ruins and may not be long for this world. But Katie can’t figure that one either.
What she can figure is good old hypocrisy, and so we get “The image of Alan [sic] Kurdi should have taught us leaders need to make decisions with their heads. Not their hearts”. Yes folks, that’s the same Katie Hopkins who said “No, I don’t care. Show me pictures of coffins, show me bodies floating in water, play violins and show me skinny people looking sad. I still don’t care … Because in the next minute you’ll show me pictures of aggressive young men at Calais, spreading like norovirus on a cruise ship”. That’s how much she really cares about the image of Aylan Kurdi.
And if that looks bad for her, consider this prime slice of historical revisionism: “Why is Trump talking military action against the only man, the only country standing fast against the tide of mediaeval religious fanaticism”. Bashar al-Assad? The only thing that SOB is taking a stand on is to keep himself in power at all costs, stuff the consequences, and never mind the millions of refugees dumped on neighbouring countries - and elsewhere.
Katie Hopkins proves once more that her worldview extends little further than the four walls of her home, that she’s an opportunist hypocrite, and a Russian stooge to boot.
Still, the media invites keep on coming, so that’s all right, then.
Our Katie has realised that this town ain't big enough for her and there's more money and attention to be found in America. Go west young girl!
ReplyDelete'Who stole my President?' asks Hopkins.
ReplyDeleteSince when has Trump been HER President? Is she perhaps a bit confused about which country she lives in?
Neil,
ReplyDeleteIs that 'go west' as in occidental directional advice, or is it 'go west' as in 'just fuck off'?
I'm Donald Trump,
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this Katie.
I'm damn sure I'm not her president.
My security sources tell me she's not as nice as she looks.
Imagine this, a triumvirate of hopkins, mensch and farage let loose in America, with all those guns.
ReplyDeletemy advice: don't give her the time of day. Ever. #oxygenofpublicity
ReplyDeleteLa Hopkins and "Go west", in same thought?
ReplyDeleteDidn't she once put on a semi-pub(l)ic performance in a Devon field?
