The President’s Brain Is Missing

For those thinking Zelo Street is about to reprise the Spitting Image lampooning of Ronald Reagan, I have sad news: this post is deadly serious, and very current. Because the 45th President of the United States is today in a state of paranoid, delusional meltdown, one that should finally persuade those in his chosen party - the Republicans - that the time has already come for Combover Crybaby Donald Trump to be removed from office.
May be an earlier than expected vacancy here

Trump, who has already lost one close colleague through ties to Russia, and looks highly likely to lose at least one more the same way, has once again been believing what he is fed by far-right conspiracy whacko sites like Breitbart. “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” he frothed this morning. And what exactly does this mean?
There was more: “Is it legal for a sitting President to be "wire tapping" a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW! … I'd bet a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that President Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to Election! … How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!
The Donald had been fed stories likeMark Levin to Congress: Investigate Obama’s ‘Silent Coup’ vs. Trump” from Breitbart, which talks of “the known steps taken by President Barack Obama’s administration in its last months to undermine Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and, later, his new administration”, going on to tell that the Obama White House had requested surveillance on the Trump campaign.
But there is only one problem with this claim: it’s not possible for a sitting President to request - far less order - surveillance on others. The request to what is called the FISA, or Foreign Intelligence Surveillance, Court came from the FBI - the same FBI whose director, James Comey, effectively shafted Hillary Clinton’s Presidential bid by reheating the faux controversy over her use of a private email server.
The FBI had good reason to request what was the monitoring of four Trump campaign officials: as the Guardian has reported, The Donald’s advisor Carter Page “met Igor Divyekin, an internal affairs official with a background in intelligence, who is said to have warned Page that Moscow had ‘kompromat’ (compromising material) on Trump”. And with Mike Flynn having to resign, with Jeff Sessions close behind, that is highly relevant.
Zelo Street learned last week that the dossier compiled by a former MI6 operative alleging encounters between Trump and Russian prostitutes in a Moscow hotel (the so-called “golden showers” allegations) is regarded in US security circles as credible. As former Obama advisor Ben Rhodes has reminded Trump “No President can order a wiretap. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you”, the ignorance of the new President, and his susceptibility to propagandists, is becoming scary.

Why is this relevant to us in the UK? Well, our not at all unelected Prime Minister rather prematurely gifted Trump an invite for a state visit. We’re going to roll out the red carpet for someone who is ready to defame his predecessor in blind paranoid panic at the realisation that the US security services have turned on him. He may not be in office for much longer.

Trump in office, just like Trump campaigning, and Trump in the company of Russian prostitutes, is taking the piss.

Did you see the tweet by Bruce Bartlett, former aide to both Reagan and Bush Sr.?

It reads as follows and encapsulates the situation quite succinctly, as follows:

Take Nixon in the deepest days of his Watergate paranoia, subtract 50 IQ points, add Twitter, and you have Trump today.
