Top Six - February 21

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have to be out and about later. So there.

6 Hacked Off Paedo Smear Busted The perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his rabble at the Guido Fawkes blog attempted to connect a known paedophile to campaigning group Hacked Off because he had allegedly attended their lobby event last year. But then, so did one of the Fawkes folks.

5 Don’t Menshn Creep Street (Thankfully) former Tory MP Louise Mensch is launching a supposedly wonderful new right-wing website called Heat Street. So she gets to blow Murdoch’s millions on little more than a wing and a prayer.

4 Lawrence Killers - Not Coming Out The articles in both the Sun and Mirror on the Joint Enterprise law were complete crap. And those convicted of killing Stephen Lawrence will not be going anywhere any time soon.

3 Cologne Attacks - Refugee Blaming Busted The attempts to link New Year’s Eve attacks in the city of Cologne with refugees from Syria and Iraq were undermined by news that, out of almost 60 arrested, only three were from that part of the world.

2 Karen Danczuk’s Guardian Fantasy A supposed interview by Zoe Williams for the Guardian turned out to be short on factual accuracy, and long on PR for the second wife of Rochdale’s nominally Labour MP. Not good for the paper.

1 Tony Parsons - Bigoted Road Hog The clueless Sun pundit got stuck in a traffic jam. So he decided that it was all the immigrants’ fault, and not down to all the inconsiderate motorists in that jam - like him.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
