Top Six - January 24

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have domestic stuff to do later. So there.
6 Charlotte Proudman - Press Silent After Ms Proudman briefly pulled her Twitter account, the papers that had thrown all the abuse at her went quiet. That she was subjected to unpleasantness after the press monstering is not an accident.
5 Owen Jones Tries The Bus Jones found what many already knew - outside London, street public transport is poor, the services often do not run on evenings and Sundays, there is no smart ticketing, no alternative to cash, and ageing buses.
4 Shapps Murdoch Grovel Rumbled The Telegraph gave a platform to Grant “Spiv” Shapps to peddle the idea that BT Openreach should be sold off. Breaking up BT is high on the wish list of just one media mogul - Rupert Murdoch.
3 So Farewell Then SunNation The stand-alone politics site was pulled as the Sun’s own traffic, despite removal of the paywall, saw falls in traffic. The Murdoch doggies continue to have a problem with the Web.
2 Sun Savile Hypocrisy Exposed While the Murdoch faithful laid into the BBC over allegedly knowing about Jimmy Savile’s behaviour and doing nothing, they also admitted that they, er, knew about Jimmy Savile’s behaviour and did nothing.
1 Sun Corbyn Marr Show Smears Busted Steve Hawkes claimed his attack on the Labour leader quoted exactly what had been said to Andrew Marr. But the transcript of the broadcast showed that the Sun’s deputy political editor had his trousers well alight.
And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
