Top Six - July 19

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have gardening to do later. So there.
6 Miserable Git Whines At BBC The Mail’s Stephen Glover went on Newsnight and claimed that the Corporation was killing national newspapers. This was total crap. But it was the message his editor wanted to be put forward.
5 Starmer Attack - Murdoch Stitch-Up The attack on Keir Starmer had very little to do with journalism, but rather a lot to do with the Murdoch press trying to get everyone to “look over there” away from their shopping their own hacks and sources, and away from the behaviour of the now-defunct Screws.
4 Byline Media - Now The Smears Start The new crowdfunded platform is proving not only successful, but also is seen as a threat to the dinosaurs. So the attempts to undermine it have started. It won’t work.
3 Burnham, The Sun, And Hillsborough The Murdoch faithful proved highly sensitive to the idea that they were going after Andy Burnham because of his support for the Hillsborough families. That may be because they are doing just that.
2 Telegraph Incites Reader Fraud The Tel encouraged readers to become Labour supporters so they could vote for Jeremy Corbyn in the leadership contest. What the paper did not tell was that this involved making two fraudulent statements.
1 Sun Royal Nazi Own Goal The paper’s “World Exclusive” was nothing more than another crass attempt to score a few more sales. No change there, then.
And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
