Top Six – August 17

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have clearing up in the kitchen to do later. So there.
6 Cliff Richard Is Still Innocent Not that you would have known that from the front pages last Friday, of course.

5 Lucy Meadows Has Been Forgotten The coverage of Kellie Maloney’s story showed that the press has still not learned about Trans people well over a year after Lucy Meadows’ suicide.

4 Robin Williams And Depression After the actor and comedian apparently took his own life, maybe attitudes towards mental health issues will change. But don’t bet on it.

3 Nadine Dorries Caught Bullying Critic The Fragrant Nadine appointed herself as the Twitter Police in order to silence a persistent critic. This included the customary dishonesty of claiming that the target was a constituent, which was not true.

2 Don’t Menshn Ben Ashford After the former Sun reporter was found not guilty on charges relating to his brief possession of someone else’s iPhone, Louise Mensch claimed that it had been a “Hacking Trial” (wrong) and that Nick Davies was somehow involved (wrong again). And she got into Oxford. And was allowed to serve as an MP. Worrying.

1 Toby Young Kicked Off His Own Board Of Governors The loathsome Tobes was a governor of the West London Free School in May – according to its website – but is not now. And the new head teacher is “rebalancing” teaching to concentrate on what should be done first – teaching the pupils, rather than all those trips abroad.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
