Top Six – March 23

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have to go out later. So there.
6 Hardcastle Castled Once More Appalling dinosaur Peter McKay slipped another slice of bigotry into last Wednesday’s Daily Mail Ephraim Hardcastle column. The response showed universal disgust. But that’s what the column is about.

5 Delingpole’s A Wanker Discuss press regulation rationally? Not James “saviour of Western civilisation” Delingpole, who called those signing the Hacked Off declaration “the Wankerati”. But only a total tosser would fail to know the difference between a press release and an advert. And he is it.

4 Tory Donor Shafted By Tories Jeremy Hosking has made his pile from venture capitalism, and gives to the Tory Party. But his local Tory Council and MP are backing a scheme which would demolish a site he just invested in.

3 HS2 – Simon Jenkins Gets Fisked An utterly lame attack on the HS2 project deserved a good going over. So it got one. Must try harder, Simon.

2 Grant Shapps Presents Spiv Bingo The Tory Party chairman urged his colleagues to promote an infographic which referred to “hardworking people” as “they”. The chorus of derision was all too predictable.

1 When Hardcastle Got Castled This post from February 2011was in response to another nasty piece of sexist bigotry from PeterMcKay, who writes the Ephraim Hardcastle column in the Daily Mail. This, though, is part of the legendarily foul mouthed Paul Dacre’s “conversation” with his readers.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
