6 Don’t Menshn The Burley Balls Tory MP Aidan Burley of Nazi-themed stag party infamy finally made his choice and decided not to stand at the next General Election. This was not enough for professional know-all Louise Mensch, who demanded that “Auguste” Balls be treated the same way. False equivalence. Next!

5 Toby Young Recruits For Labour Tobes’ slavish support for Michael “Oiky” Gove, allied with the obligatory teacher bashing, was revealed by a recent opinion poll to have gifted Labour a huge lead among education professionals.

4 Toby Young Smears Pollsters Tobes was most unhappy to discover that he was recruiting for Labour. So he decided to smear YouGov and accuse them of push polling. That’ll be another complaint and apology on the way, then.

3 UKIP – Desperate In Wythenshawe Lord Ashcroft’s poll revealed that Labour was so far in front in the Wythenshawe and Sale East by-election that UKIP had no chance of overhauling them. They might not even come second. So out came a truly desperate postal vote smear.

2 Dawlish Becomes Famous The press suddenly became supremely knowledgeable about the rail line that runs along the coast at Dawlish. But there is no snap answer to the problem.

1 Damian Thompson – Pants On Fire The editor of the bear pit that is Telegraph blogs claimed that Jonathan Portes’ complaint about an attack by Dan, Dan The Oratory Man had been dismissed. That’s not quite right, is it, Dames?
