Top Six – September 15

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have a shed load of posts to get out later. So there.
6 Peston Fails To Understand HS2 The Beeb’s Robert Peston joined those missing the main reason for the HS2 project, and that is capacity. Debating availability of skilled labour in the North of England is academic if transport links to the South-East clog up completely by 2030.

5 Global Cooling? Another Mail Con Trick David Rose brought forth another steaming pile of climate change denialism, which was easily debunked. Again.

4 Toby Young Really Is Captain Bellend The loathsome Tobes picked an argument with a group who had signed a letter to the Telegraph not because he was at odds with their views, but just to argue the toss and smear them as “Lefties”.

3 Sochi – Stephen Fry Trumps Paul Dacre Action in protest at the Russian anti-gay laws has not been stilled by what the Daily Mail says, and sponsors are starting to get nervous. Because they might lose a lot of money.

2 Mad Mel – My Part In Her Downfall The Daily Mail and Melanie “not just Barking but halfway to Upminster” Phillips have parted company. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving ranter.

1 Littlejohn’s Cyril Smith Howler The Mail’s unfunny and tedious churnalist clumsily intervened in the historical abuses carried out by the former MP for Rochdale. He got his timeline all wrong and left the paper open to being sued by one former MP. No change there, then.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
