6 Hislop Does Not Say No Those opposed to a new system of press regulation talked up the response of Private Eye editor Ian Hislop, who voiced his concern in a BBC interview. But he did not actually say no.

5 Express Supports Fat Cats Bankers’ bonuses were suddenly A Very Good Thing at the Express. Why should this be? Because the hated EU wants to cap them!

4 Lucy Meadows – The Day After As the news spread that transsexual schoolteacher Lucy Meadows had been found dead, the papers rushed to show how clueless they are when it comes to gender issues.

3 Right Wingers Routed In City Elections A slate of candidates backed by those close to the Young Britons’ Foundation (YBF) stood for election to the City of London Corporation. And most of them lost, some of them very badly indeed. There may be more to come, too.

2 Guido Fawked – Hacked Off Hypocrisy The perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his rabble at the Guido Fawkes blog went after the Hacked Off campaign group, accusing it of secrecy over its backers. This was A Very Bad Thing, unlike his pals at a number of right-wing lobby groups. Another fine mess, once again.

1 Littlejohn Victim’s Suicide Transsexual schoolteacher Lucy Meadows, who had been monstered by the press and made the subject of a characteristically vicious attack by the Mail’s unfunny and talentless churnalist Richard Littlejohn, was found dead at her house.
