6 Phone Hacking Supergrass Emerges Last week’s arrests of four senior current and former Trinity Mirror staff was followed by the news that the Murdoch empire could face another 600 hacking claims – then it emerged that the source was an industry insider turned whistleblower. So more bad news could be on the way for the press.

5 Hacked Off In The Crosshairs As it became clear that properly independent press regulation could become a reality, the Mail turned on campaigners Hacked Off, dispensing with such trivialities as facts and ramping up the abuse. There’ll be more, especially if tomorrow’s Commons vote goes against the Tories.

4 Petronella? Wyatt I Never! As Petronella Wyatt sounded off about all the famous people who had groped and propositioned her, this post from last December, showing just how honest she isn’t, became rather popular.

3 Nadine Dorries – Pants On Fire The MP for Mid Bedfordshire asserted that, when she was growing up, Liverpool had eight Tory MPs and “An all Tory council”. Oh no it didn’t, and here are the facts.

2 Guido Fawked – Conned By Week Old Fraud The perpetually thirsty Paul Staines and his pals at the Guido Fawkes blog gleefully taunted those loony lefties at Lambeth Council over a poster full of howlers. Had they done their homework, they’d have known it had been called out as a hoax EIGHT DAYS BEFORE. And now they’ve pulled the post without saying sorry for conning their readers. Another fine mess, once again.

1 Leisha Brookes – Curiouser And Curiouser The Mail was so keen to kick the hated BBC over what Jimmy Savile may have done that it failed to notice it had previously gone after the woman whose cause it was championing over her connection to the EDL. And other parts of the story didn’t add up. Now, it’s all gone quiet there, and at the Express and Sun, which also ran it.
