Top Six – November 4

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I have to clean up after a major freezer defrost. So there.

6 Hello, I’m On The Boris Bus We flagged down a number 38 in Grosvenor Place and sampled the New Bus For London, the BozzaMaster, the legacy of London’s occasional Mayor to the city. And the conclusion was that it was a bit different, but it wasn’t worth the millions thrown at it.

5 Airport Commission Is Launched While most folks were looking elsewhere, the Government launched a Commission to make recommendations about runway capacity across the country. Here’s a look at who is involved and what they are most likely to recommend.

4 Tabloid Troll – Peppiatt Tirade Backfires Dennis Rice, who still pretends anonymity as Tabloid Troll, went off on a bitter and jealous snark at Rich Peppiatt for being a success. Not a good or clever thing when his original idea was to promote journalism as a career.

3 Uncle Dick And Blue Peter This post from mid-October has come back onto the leader board, partly because the Sun finally named the BBC presenter who John Simpson called “Uncle Dick”. But they only did so after the London Review of Books had named him, and were more than a fortnight behind this blog.

2 Delingpole – Corby Campaign That Never Was James “saviour of Western civilisation” Delingpole declared victory on the wind farms issue and withdrew from the Corby by-election contest. But the real reason for his withdrawal was that he would have had to stump up a £500 deposit later the same day. He never intended to be a candidate – it was just a fraudulent publicity stunt.

1 Newsnight And A Paedophile Accusation The “senior aide” to a former Prime Minister involved in child abuse never got named, but one thing was clear – it wasn’t a serving or former Cabinet Minister. We had a rummage around the contenders, but didn’t exclude anyone – yet.

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
