It happened over Phonehackgate: the perpetually thirsty Paul
Staines and his tame gofer, the odious flannelled fool Henry Cole, the Laurel
and Hardy of the blogosphere, were either looking the wrong way or just
avoiding the issue as Nick Davies and the folks at the deeply subversive Guardian uncovered wrongdoing at the
Murdoch empire that was endemic and blatantly obvious.
See no story, hear no story ...
Now the rabble at the Guido Fawkes blog, recently enhanced
by newly appointed teaboy Alex Wickham, are silent on another breaking issue,
that of organised child abuse, especially at a number of care homes in North
Wales, and the paedophile ring at the heart of the unfolding scandal. Others
are demonstrating
the scale of the potential fallout for the Tory Party, but not them.
That may dismay some who have come to expect The Great Guido
to speak out fearlessly against whatever wrongs that Staines and his pals see
being done in the world, given his boast that it would be a “nightmare” to sue him, as the blog owner
is registered in the offshore tax haven of Nevis, and anyone wanting to take action
would have to deposit £15,000 there first.
But the prospect of a well connected Tory peer instructing m’Learned
Friends, together with the thought that, as with phone hacking, it is going to
be his side on the wrong end of the fallout, appears to have stopped Staines in
his tracks. Indeed, he has gone all righteous and sniffy when responding to all
the speculation surrounding the identity of the peer and his alleged
accomplices.
... and even speak no story
“Various left-wing
Z-listers tweeting the alleged ‘Tory grandee rapist’ name” he observed
yesterday evening, as if all of this were beneath him. It wasn’t beneath him when
he was trying to smear William ‘Ague as gay not so long ago: then, it was
full attack mode, including plenty of nudge-nudgery, as I observed at the time.
In fact, gay bashing is a well practiced sideline at the Fawkes blog.
But when it comes to something way more serious, Staines and
his pals have decided to keep schtum –
except to try and smear Tom Watson, who is actually trying to move the whole
business forward. The Fawkes blog claimed
earlier that Watson would attack Master ‘Ague in a letter he was sending to
Young Dave. But in reality, Watson
did not even mention his name.
Thus the “Labour
source” that had supposedly whispered to The Great Guido turned out to be
another crock of crap, yet more blatant dishonesty, and another failed attempt
to pretend that Staines was up to speed on this one. He isn’t: because Watson
is making the running, the Fawkes blog must by its own iron law be opposed to
him. It will end up running to catch up with events.
But then, Staines can still bluster about being “#1”. Another fine mess, once again.
The blog over at Guido Fawkes is a septic dredge-pit of lies, lies and more lies. The same with James Delingpole. They select certain bits of rumour or misinformation and run with it as it if were truth, not on the merits of the information itself. Purely because it cements their own dogmatic approach to life. Anything which lifts the lid on this is deemed wrong in their eyes. Do not trust them in the slightest.
ReplyDeleteThe "senior figure from the Thatcher era" was quoted in the press only a few weeks ago as part of the coda of another ancient scandal. The skeletons are falling out the cupboards so fast that it's hard to keep up.
ReplyDeleteGuano
And now it's the 9'th, guardian has pubished account of why it is not Lord McAlpine, Monbiot has deleted tweet and apologised.
ReplyDeleteI despise Staines and his sort with all of my heart. But he appears to have made the right call here.
One of the problems with fighting bigots with bigotry is that you can fall into the same trap.
