Top Six – September 9

So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, I’ve got to go out to Aldi later. So there.

6 Grant Shapps – Don’t Do It Dave Some of the very good reasons for Young Dave to not touch Shapps with the longest of bargepoles were shown here. Cameron did not take any notice of the warnings. Now he may be wondering if he did the right thing.

5 London’s Secret Airport The Independent On Sunday revealed that a consortium backed by as much as £60 billion was looking at planning a new London airport somewhere in Oxfordshire or Berkshire, but not Buckinghamshire. But no names were mentioned, so we’ve filled in the gaps for them.

4 Mel And A Disability Howler Melanie “not just Barking but halfway to Upminster” Phillips went off on a rant about Paralympics and disability, but came unstuck when she was unable to distinguish disability from incapacity.

3 Tabloid Troll Foot In Mouth Dennis Rice, former “investigations editor” of the Mail On Sunday, demonstrated his expertise by finding someone called Tim Fenton who was a supporter of Serbia and Muammar Gaddafi. From this he asserted that I was a supporter of them too. But there is more than one person called Tim Fenton, and the congenitally stupid Rice had picked the wrong one.

2 The Disintegration Of Dennis Rice The supposedly anonymous Tabloid Troll finally admitted that he and Dennis Rice were one and the same, following more aggression from his pals at the cheaper end of the Fourth Estate, and, yes, me making a mistake. For which, unlike Rice, I apologised.

1 Daily Star Meets Wallace And Gromit Recovering Daily Star showbiz hack Nigel Pauley was not averse to making highly personal and insulting comments about a photo that his mate Dennis Rice said was of me. How they both jeered and laughed! But when Pauley was called out in kind, they both kicked off in style.

[Yes, the top three posts all feature the deeply unpleasant Dennis Rice. That’s a reflection not just of Zelo Street’s content, remember, but of what is most popular with those who read it. There will be more occasions to come where I take the e-cattle prod to the loathsome Rice, whose attempts to shut me up have all failed. Miserably]

And that’s the end of another blogtastic week, blog pickers. Not ‘arf!
