So what’s hot, and what’s not, in the past week’s blogging? Here are the six most popular posts on Zelo Street for the past seven days, counting down in reverse order, because, well, it’s Sunday morning and I’m on autopilot after clearing up the breakfast stuff. So there.

6 Poor Little Rich Club Someone called Guy Pelly had to close his Chelsea nightclub. A few of the A K Yah set were tirribly, tirribly upset. The Standard was concerned. Nobody else gave the proverbial flying foxtrot.

5 The Further Leaving Behind Of Liverpool After a dismal end to Liverpool’s Premier League season, I said what was becoming obvious: Kenny Dalglish was not cutting the mustard and had to go. He duly went. Attention is now turning to his successor, and in updates to the post I’ve laid out the stark choices facing the club’s owners.

4 Tabloid Troll Turns Paranoid Following his unmasking, Dennis Rice began to embrace conspiracy theories about the Media Standards Trust (MST), which he believes is behind his loss of anonymity. It isn’t, of course: that was solely down to his inability to behave himself.

3 Flannelled Fool Photo Fiddle The singularly clueless Henry Cole, tame gofer to the perpetually thirsty Paul Staines at the Guido Fawkes blog, lashed out at me for pointing out that he is only a pretend journalist. Cole’s smear for supposedly taking photographs of men is a bit rich, considering he spends a disproportionate amount of time pursuing, photographing and writing about men. Not that you should take any inference from that, of course.

2 Murdoch Is Served (74) Latest in the series started in July 2009 looks at the charging of Rebekah and Charlie Brooks, what led up to it, and why all the protests by the former Murdoch editor and her husband may generate column inches, but will not help their cause one bit.

1 Flannelled Fool A Mere Spectator The Spectator magazine gave the odious Henry Cole, sidekick of the perpetually thirsty Paul Staines, a berth as a “contributing editor”. For Fraser Nelson, this was either brave or foolish, given Cole’s inability to distinguish between fact and fiction and lack of journalistic ability. Not a good or clever move. But time to get the popcorn ready for opening.
