Tea Party – More Hypocrisy

With a month to go before the mid-term elections, things are not going too well for the GOP in their battle to unseat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Nevada.

This contest might have been thought to be a straightforward one: the state has above average unemployment, the Democrats are losing popularity nationally, and the more partisan part of the media is backing the Republicans to the hilt.

But the candidacy of “tea party” supporter Sharron Angle has not been without its problems. Now it appears that there is another supposed “tea party” candidate on the ballot, and this could hurt Angle in a tight race. Latest polls suggest that a tight race is what it will be.

Now, into this race has been pitched a recording of a meeting last Sunday where Angle made adverse comment on the GOP nationally, citing its lack of principles. This is a bit rich: as I observed earlier, Angle has railed against Government mandated health care, while being in receipt of it herself.

At this point in the campaign, the last thing that a challenger such as Angle needs is to lose her nerve and her focus. But the impression given by her meeting last Sunday is that this is what is happening.
