Things like expenses and other (important) FOI requests also cost thousands if not hundreds of thousands (think how long it took to put black lines across all those expenses documents!). It also opens yourself up to the R-W criticism that protesting wastes lots of taxpayer money (yes, things like the queen's visit to NI and the Royal Wedding cost much more, but the point still stands- the student protests and march 26 still did cost millions in overtime, cleaning up, etc.)<br /><br />That said, the other points are still valid.
