A Serious Sabbatical - Update

One emergency admission to hospital in Liverpool later, taken there and back by car as I was forbidden from using the train, a little light surgery, an overnight stay, and a week and a half (almost) to recover, and the news is that … there is not yet any news.

Everything seems to be going in the right direction following an enforced period of taking it even more easily than usual. Resting up has become the new seriously boring. Watching events while unable to post on them is doubly so. But that has to carry on until next week, when I get the thumbs up - or not, as the case may be.

I will post again in a few days’ time. Meanwhile, sit back and watch the live on-air disintegration of the worst Prime Minister ever. Remember where you were when the fall finally came.

  3. Good to hear from you, Tim. Glad the recovery's coming on. Just get in the popcorn, chill out and watch as things hit the fan after the froth and faff of this weekend subsides.

  9. Thanks for the update, Tim. Hope you make a full and speedy recovery. Take it easy and try not to feel too bad about missing out on jubilee-related shenanigans to report on - you know there'll still be plenty going on when you're back in business!

  17. All the very best. Missed what you would have said but can live without it if it means your good health and a lot more life to come. Don't rush back too soon, be ok rather than early.

  22. Very suspicious, you disappear for a few weeks, and Boris gets a vote of confidence, coincidence?

Anyway, hope you're on the road to recovery and hope you are well enough to resume normal service asap.

  23. Get well soon Tim-Take all the time you need and simply enjoy 'The Fall of the House of Johnson.

  24. Glad you're still keeping a close eye on things!

The 'spin operation' after yesterday's dismal 'win' for Johnson really is something to behold and Nadine Dorries merits a whole subsection to herself...........Thatcher wouldn't have let someone like that serve the tea never occupy a place in cabinet!

  26. I will enjoy the disintegration of the tory party, but I will worry about the damage they can / will do in the meantime. Still, it's an ill wind as they say.

All the best for a speedy recovery Tim. Take care.

I used to think that Nadine Dorries was actually Esther McVey after a bit of fundamental and ultimately unsuccessful cosmetic surgery. But Our Esther reappeared today at PMQs and was seen in the sane room as gorgeous, pouting Nads.

My theory is that Motormouth McVey only came out because she knew you weren't around and she thought she would be safe.

Get back soon,Tim, and send her back into hiding.

A typo is the only way McVey (or Dorries) and the word 'sane' could ever appear in the same sentence.
