Bozo Plays Taliban Trick Or Treat

While those seeking to leave Afghanistan form a less than orderly queue at Kabul Airport, with some deaths reported amid the desperation to get out, our Government’s response is all too predictable: Dominic Raab, who claims to be Foreign Secretary, has been, and remains on holiday, out of the country. Adding to the mood of shambolic ineptitude, alleged Prime Minister Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is also not taking it seriously.

He did nothing ...

But, unlike Raab, at least Bozo has responded, firstly, as the BBC has reported, to try and tell those Rotten Foreigners™ what they should be jolly well doing. “Mr Johnson said the UK would work with the UN Security Council and other Nato countries to stop Afghanistan ‘lapsing back into terror’ and called for an ‘international effort’ from the West”.

... he was on holiday ...

Pity he didn’t try and press that point when Combover Crybaby Donald Trump and his then Secretary of State Mike Pompeo negotiated with the Taliban, after Trump had leant on the Government of Pakistan to release Mullah Baradar, effectively shattering morale in the Afghan army and leading inevitably to where we are today. Mullah Baradar? He’s just been proclaimed President of the new Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

... his fans are busy wiping the evidence ...

Having not said boo while Trump was setting up Afghanistan for a fall, Bozo then admitted the fall was going to happen, and that he knew it was coming: “He admitted the US decision to pull out of the country had ‘accelerated things’ in Afghanistan but said ‘we've known for a long time this was the way things would go”. Now he tells us.

... and he is now in charge in Afghanistan

You think that’s not what happened? Here’s an observation from MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan last night: “Here is Mike Pompeo, less than a year ago, meeting with Afghanistan's new 'president,' Taliban leader Mullah Baradar, who the Trump administration had released from prison in 2018”. Although the Republican Party is now back-pedalling frantically.

How frantically? Here’s Hugo Lowell from Guardian US: “Republican Party has removed a page from their website bragging about Trump’s deal with the Taliban that committed Biden to withdraw 5,000 US troops from Afghanistan - and led to the fall of Kabul today”. The hastily deleted text included this gem: “President Trump has continued to take the lead in peace talks as he signed a historic peace agreement with the Taliban in Afghanistan”.

One has to wonder what that so-called Special Relationship really means when our PM passively accepts that the US is selling an ally down the river and merely shrugs his shoulders about it, then suggests that a group not known for diplomacy or moderation keep any of that terror stuff to themselves, if it’s all the same to them.

It means that part of our free and fearless press which is invested so heavily in The Adoration Of The Bozo having to tread a very fine line this morning, typified by the Mail howling “Now families of 457 British heroes who sacrificed lives ask … WHAT THE HELL DID THEY ALL DIE FOR?” and then adding “MINISTERS were accused of presiding over the biggest foreign policy catastrophe in 65 years last night”. But no names.

You want answers? Try asking your hero

So no admission to those readers that the UK has no influence on the USA, it’s lost its influence in Europe, and its Prime Minister has effectively just admitted it.

Meanwhile, the papers don’t mention refugees. Best not frighten readers with reality.

  1. The only "special relationship" Britain has with the American Empire is that of a sick dog on a lead held by an insane sick owner.

As for the Daily Heil and all the other far right bullshitters...there wasn't a peep out of them during 20 years of lethal mayhem in Afghanistan. Let alone when the Taliban was created and armed by the CIA and MI6, as was Al Qaeda.

All the false platitudinous media drivel in the world won't hide their cowardly culpability. But watch them try their hypocritical whiney sniveling "best".

  2. On July 8th Bloody Stupid Johnson told the House of Commons:

“I am sure they will be aware that there is no military path to victory for the Taliban… I do not believe that the Taliban are guaranteed the kind of victory that we sometimes read about.”

So either he was lying then, or he's lying now, or — and this is the most likely scenario — he was lying on both occasions. Still, he's not alone in his promulgation of titanic porkies:

“Had our 2020 Presidential election not been rigged and if I were now president, the world would find that our withdrawal from Afghanistan would be a conditions-based withdrawal. I personally had discussions with top Taliban leaders whereby they understood what they are doing now would not have been acceptable. It would have been a much different and much more successful withdrawal, and the Taliban understood that much better than anyone.“ – Donald Trump, last Thursday.

But don’t worry, because Tobias Ellwood has called for HMS Queen Elizabeth to assist with the evacuation and never mind the fact that she’s just docked in Guam and her support vessels are either showing the fleg in South Korea or on gunnery exercises in the Pacific. How the presence of an aircraft carrier, even in the Indian Ocean, would help is not spelled out but given the general state of Tory geography he probably thinks she can just tie up in Kabul harbour.

What was that phrase again? Never get involved in a land war in Asia, no?

  3. The West NEVER learns.

Even after centuries of having its arse eventually kicked all over Asia despite superior weaponry and initial "success".

  4. Remember not so long ago our free and fearless press, reich wing politicians and the reich wing generally castigated, berated, slandered and generated much hate towards Jeremy Corbyn when he had the temerity to question our presence in Afghanistan? Will they apologise?

  5. Ho hum, guess Trump wouldn't want to be known as the president who sold out the Afghan people to a regime remembered for being intolerant and murderous, especially if they start exporting their views into the 'free' world later.
